I bought a a 3" barrel for my Pietta 1860 and the problem is that it sits so close to the cylinder the cylinder will not turn, locked solid.. What is the best way to correct the problem ?

A spacer (thin washer) in the arbor hole. If the frame and barrel lug (where the 2 locating pins are) won't meet (meaning the spacer won't work), reduce the forcing cone area.

What is the manufacturing date (Box with 2 letters)?

Is the barrel wedge still able to be fitted with thumb pressure to a reasonable lock position? If so, there is no problem with the barrel itself, but the forcing cone, as 45 Dragoon mentioned above.

1860 barrel replacement

Kisrt, the maker of drop-in cartridge converters points out that the Pieta army cylinders are a little longer than Uberti cylinders and, therefore, Kirst recommends their .45 Russion caliber conversions for Uberti revolvers instead of .45 Colt because of the difference in length. You might be trying to fit a Uberti barrel instead of a PIeta.
