I have a 20 Ga. Savage Fox B in very good to excellent condition.
There is, however, a small crack (less than 1/2 in.) in the front of the forearm.
The finish is in really nice shape.
Any suggestions on what to do?
This may be a dumb question. I just read a description of a used double barrel for sale with 2 barrel sets. In the description it states that one barrel set doesn't ring.
What does this mean?
A friend of mine asked me to research the current value of his Colt Python 357 Mag, purchased new in 1968. He inherited it a few years ago.
He also asked me to find out what it was selling for back in '68.

I finally took the plunge and got a Savage Fox Model B Series H 20 Gauge at Cabela's Gun Library. I like the fact that they give the gun a 30 day warranty.

I recently purchased a Fox Model B Series H 20 Gauge.
Three questions:
1. What does Series H mean?
2. How can I determine the age of the gun?
3. There are no choke markings on the barrels. How do I determine the choke on each barrel?

From what I'm reading in the Firing Line, I'm probably better off looking for a used gun in good shape to stay in my price range.
Opinions on what to look for used around $500 - $700 in an O/U or SxS?
I'm still researching which gun to buy for HD.
Leaning towards a 20 GA Mossberg 500 because I feel that a 12 GA will be too heavy and have too much recoil for my wife to handle.
A number of people have suggested a .410. Reasons I've heard... much less recoil.... less chance of killing an...
First timer here... I am leaning towards purchasing a Mossberg 500 Field/Security combo #54169.
As my wife will also be learning how to shoot this gun, what low recoil ammo would you recommend?
