Differences between a Winchester rifle and carbine

In another thread started by PAHOO, a question was asked what the differences were between a Winchester model 94 rifle and carbine. In the spirit of education, I will describe what the differences are. The 94 action stays the same and all action parts are interchangable. A carbine which most are...

What went wrong with the Red Label?

I study firearm design for a hobby and am a devoted Winchester man. I dislike cast and MIM construction. That being said I have to admit that Ruger has a firm grasp on bulding reliable firearms from these processes. I own a few though I dont shoot them much and dont relly upon them. I have...

    Mossberg S26C question

A friend just purchased online a Mossberg S26c. I can find very little imformation about this rifle. According to the seller this gun was built by Mossberg for the Speigals catalog company around 1939. Since Mossberg also produced a model 26c, I am assuming the S26c is simply a model 26c with...

    American made mauser?

Hello everyone, I was wondering if any American company ever made 98 mausers. I know Fred Wells built custom, hand made, one at a time, machined 98 mausers, but his guns start at $10,000 and go up from there. I have a real problem using guns that shot and killed so many Allies. The rumor was...
