    Gun Magazines................(?)

Just finished the latest "American Handgunner". I've let most of my subscriptions lapse, so wondered if I was missing anything. NOPE! I understand that advertising pays the bills, so I can live with page after page of advertising. But, to have the writers shill for so many products is too...

"Snapping" a cylinder open and closed!

How can "snapping" a cylinder open and closed damage the crane, affect the timing, or damage ANY part of the revolver when it is designed to withstand 35,000 psi on a sudden and regular basis? That has to be very high quality steel. Thanks, Doug.

    Smith & Wesson

What a shame! Those who believe in the boycott are missing out on the finest revolvers the company has ever produced! Tight, smooth, really fine workmanship! I had my doubts, at first, about the actions associated with the in-frame firing pin. But, after a little dry-firing, they smooth up...

    Perspective on Point Shooting

Is anyone reading Mike Conti's articles in Guns and Ammo? It is good material and also shows how man inevitably sinks into "gamesmanship" when his intentions are really the best.

    Auto vs. Revolver

I was just looking at my 1911 this morning, thinking: "Nice gun! .45 Acp is the biggest and baddest caliber! BUT, a "heavy" load, in this auto, is a "light" load in a .45 revolver (ACP or Colt)! Sure, it's flat and conceals easily, but it can't do the job of a nice "N" frame S&W!"

.30-30 lever action's for home defense.

How can you beat a good Winchester 94 or Marlin 336 for home defense? If you want a rifle, for that purpose?

    Canada

I was just reading the full-page ads, to sportsmen, by Canada! Shouldn't we boycott Canada, and the "made in America" cars actually made in Canada, if we are boycotting Smith & Wesson?

    New Smith & Wesson Revolvers

Check the Smith & Wesson web page, Performance Center. Two very interesting guns, for revolver nuts. Model 27, with 4 or 6 1/2 barrel. Triple-Lock, 6 1/2 inch barrel, in .45 Colt.

    Failure to Stop

Just a thought on previous posts regarding "failure to stop". It seems a lot of people are blaming the caliber, without giving any thought to the bullet selection. For instance, in the .357 Mag. we have many choices. A 125 gr. JHP, a 125 gr. JSP, 125 gr. "Golden Sabre", 158 gr. JHP, 158 gr...

    Carb Cleaner

Any reason NOT to use the cheaper carb cleaner to clean guns without disassembling them? It seems like I go thru "GunScrubber" very quickly!

Carbon steel (Blued) Vs. Stainless Steel

At one time, there was a lot of talk about stainless steel guns having more problems than blued carbon steel guns. Difficulty of machining stainless, etc. To be honest, if I have my choice, I'll take a blued gun every time. Any opinions out there?

    California Gun Laws

I've been watching, on TV, the NRA show depicting the abuses of gun owners in California. When are the NRA, Gun Owners of America, et al, going to take these states to court for their abuses of the constitution? Let's see ACTION, instead of pleas for more money!
