Business ethics/morality.... What do we expect?

In a thread I started RE my dealing with McMillian stocks, I noticed that there were two lines of thought. 1) making an agreement with a customer is giving your word. Keeping it is important, and affects future dealings with that customer and others. There is no excuse for breaking your...

    Got SCREWED by Mcmillian......

I posted yesterday on my ordering an 'internet special' stock from McMillian for a Mauser 98 action. Yeah, they took my CC number and said it would ship today. Well, today I get a message to call them. I call, and the lady (Eileen) advised me that they made a mistake....they no longer had that...

Just stole a stock from McMillian....

Just found (and ordered) an A2 stock on internet special at their site for $300 including shipping. Coolness factor is high. 98 Mauser action, Varmint bbl channel, molded-in woodland camo, adj. cheekpiece, and decelerator recoil pad. Oh, 2 front swivels, 1 rear swivel. Set up and ready to...

    Need help finding a stock.....

A while back, I bought a Parker-Hale M86 target stock from Gibbs Rifle Company. They no longer have that stock. I'm making a copy of the Canadian C3a1/M82 sniper rifle. I re-worked my other stock, so it doesn't have the look. Anyone know where I can get one of these stocks?

    beginning reloaders....an overlooked option

I've noticed a lot of people suggesting the single-stage presses over the progressives because of cost. When I started, I knew I wanted to eventually go with a progressive, but I wanted to go as cheap as possible. I also wanted the maximum flexibility and accuracy. My solution (and the one...

Got a look at IMI 9mm specs....

Specifically, the fabled black-tip 115gr subgun stuff. I wasn't impressed.....they clock it at 1180fps out of a 4" barrel. Geeezze, the white-box Winchester 115gr clocks 1190fps out of a 4" barrel. The 124gr IMI ball clocked 1100fps. All numbers from manufacturers. I was REALLY expecting...

Need to know who modifies Uzis for 45acp mags....

I need to know who it is that modifies the pistol grip/mag housing to accept the greasegun or Thompson mags. I have an Uzi I'd like to convert to 45acp, but I don't want to experiment on expensive parts, and I want 20 or 30 rnd mags. Any help?????

Evaluation on stock blanks from Cali'co....

I got my two stock blanks from Cali'co a few weeks ago, so here's the eval...... The first was a utility grade walnut. Very good, straight grain, came out beautifully with a linseed finish. Well worth the money. The second was an 'A Fancy' grade. Fairly pricey. Didn't even get to...

Just got my Richard's Microfit Stock today...

and I ain't happy. The stocks are supposed to be shaped and ready for final sanding on the outside, and 96% inletted. Bull. The stock I got was VERY roughly shaped (a lot of it done with a dremel, apparently). The flat bottom of the fore-end is cut at an angle , and would have to be re-cut. The...

Why is it bad to shoot 127gr +P+ Ranger SXT in Uzis???

Got ignored on the original thread, so..... Given that NATO subgun ammo (high-pressure stuff) is the preferred fodder for uzis, why is there a warning on the Ranger SXT boxes (127gr +P+) to NOT use it in uzis? I'd like to know, 'cause I usually like to try any new loads I come across in my...

    Strange on-line happening.....

I was on-line at the FALfiles, when I got an IM pop-up. What is strange is that it was from a person I have never spoken with, nor did I recognize. The person claimed to be 'bubbles' from AR15.com. I haven't posted at AR15.com in MONTHS. Further, I've never been in a thread with anyone called...

    Dem wild 'n' wacky womyn......

I had been registered over at MIZZMAGAZINE:rolleyes: for quite some time. Always thought that getting both views on issues involving women was a good idea. I just sent their webmistress an e-mail to delete my account. Why? heh.... I kinda got ticked over the general idea that only...

    Cleaning Cosmoline.....

I originally posted this in the Smithy, but I guess not too many people noticed it. I've found the perfect cleaner for cosmoline (even dried!). I use a chemical called Formula 2050 produced by a company called CMT to clean my woodworking tools (router bits and stuff). I tried it on some...
