I'm having trouble installing my 30 rounds mags in my SKS. Am I not holding my mouth right? The only way I can get one to go in correctly is to pull the bolt back. How do you get the bolt to stay back?

    7.62X39 brass bullets, reloading, ETC

Since I just purchased an SKS of course I looked into the reloading side of it. Why is brass so much? And bullets aren't very cheap either. This has to be one of the few rounds that is cheaper to buy than to reload. Is there another brass that could be trimmed down/resized to make sks brass?
