    M1 carbine question

I have a friend who has an M1 carbine that his father bought in the early 60s. It is an American postal meter company that came out of a crate at the armory on Staten Island. He claims it is unfired. Does anyone have any idea on what a fair price for this would be ? I'll try and post a...

    Quadrupeds & Bipeds

With all the posts about stopping power, here are my 2 favorites. The 629 for Quadrupeds that roam about anywhere in North America. And the 60 for the bipeds who are bad guys on our streets. Both are utterly reliable and easily maintained.

    Obama in November....

Ok, I am not trying to start a war here but am interested in others thoughts. What are everyones thoughts if (I sincerely hope not) Obama is elected in the up coming election. His thoughts on taxes are scarey but his thoughts and what he wants to do with gun control are down right...

Bone grips for my Gold Cup

Here's a pic of my Gold Cup with its new grips. They are made from water buffalo bone over in Vietnam. The fit and finish are exceptional. Wait time was approximately 2 months from order date. Worth every minute.

    D.Kirkwood Boston

I thought I posted this here before but I guess I didn't. I've had this for approx 10 years and my grandfather owned it for 40. If I remember right it was passed down to him by his father. It is a 10 ga. and was made sometime around 1881. I have no idea how to put a value on something...

    Ithaca Flues 4E

I've got an Ithaca Flues I am trying to put a price on. Very clean with bright bores. There is a small rub on the center rib and a small chip on the side of the butt plate. Other than that it is beautiful. Anyone have any thoughts? I was offered 1600 for it 7 years ago with just a crappy...

    WWII pistol info???

A friend of mine asked me if I knew what this was and what it may be worth. It is a pistol that his father took from a german supply officer during WWII. Anywhere there is a serial number there is a swastika engraved. I told him it looked something like a browning but he doesn't think so...

Last weapon to round out my small collection

Well this is my last weapon purchase for a while. Need to concentrate on learaning to reload (that and purchase necissary gear). But I couldn't turn this one down. Colts are like pulling hens teeth around here. And this one was too clean to say no.

    629-1 unfluted cylinder PT 2

Well I decided to get it. Price seemed fair and they aren't making anymore 629-1s. I like the unfluted cylinder and full barrel lug. Anyone have any info on it? Thanks Here it is with its little brother. 66-1

    629-1 unfluted cylinder?

Does anyone have a 629-1 with full barrel lug and unfluted cylinder? I was at a local shop today picking up some ammo and spied one in the case. The hammer was bobbed making it DAO and trigger was smooth. (not ribbed like on my 66-1) It looked like it hasn't had many rounds thru it with...

    Any armorers or gunsmiths around?

Went to the range today wanting to shoot a Beretta 96 that I traded my glock 27 for. Everything was going fine and then this.....I felt the blow out on my finger and some splatter on my forehead. (I was wearing safety glasses and muffs). Next I ejected the magazine, made sure weapon was empty...

    S&W problem

I've got a problem that hopefully someone here can help me with. The weapon is a 66-1, 6". When I push the cylinder release the plunger sticks and doesn't release. I can't even get it to release now. When I had it open a few minutes ago the pin moved freely....so I put a drop of lube on...

    I need to start reloading...

I need to start reloading. Going to gun shops for ammo is getting expensive. I went into a local shop this afternoon to pick up a few boxes of ammo and spotted this on the shelf. Well actually I spotted it last week but resisted. Driving there I told myself if it is there, I'll look at it...

    My first Para

Went up to drop off a firearm at a dealer yesterday and had the itch for another weapon. The LDA by para ordnance intrigued me so I picked up a used one that was on the shelf. I am rapidly becoming a fan of the LDA system and can see me owning another para or two. This one may become my main...

    The other half

Here is the other half of what I picked up yesterday from a co-workers father. He got it back in the late 70s and never fired it. The owner before him couldn't have put more than 2 boxes thru it. I'm not a big revolver fan but this was way too nice to pass up.

    How did I do

Picked this up today. It belonged to a friends father (he is 85) and he had no use for it anymore. It hasn't been shot in over 25 years I was told and he had it since the middle 60s or so. After a little digging I came up with a manufacture of somewhere arounnd 1917. Most of the blueing is...
