Taurus 24/7 long slide replacement front sight

I have a Taurus 24/7 long slide. It shoots low with EVERYTHING I have put in it. Low power loads, max loads, semi-wadcutter, 200 grain, 230 grain ball. Does anybody know of front sight replacements for the 24/7 so I don't have to file down the front sight? The Doc is out now.

    Odd happening, bullet separation

I had something happen tonight that never happened to me before. .38 Special, Bull-X hollow-base 148 grain wadcutters. 2.7 grains of Red Dot. The skirt of the wadcutter was separating from the front of the bullet, hitting the rubber dust guard and flying back at me. It looked as if I had two...

    Mauser HSc barrel question

Can the barrel of a .380 be swapped out for the barrel of a .32 without having the change the slide? (I did a search here, but that question was not adequately answered that I could find) The Doc is out now.

No. 1 Mk. III came through

Now let me preface by saying that I am not the best of shooters. So it was a surprise to me what happened yesterday. My club held a 200 yard Buffalo Shoot. Three sets of four silhouette metal targets, a chicken (4 pts.) a pig (3 pts.) a turkey (2 pts) and a ram (1 pt) and then one larger...

    Taurus cylinder lock-up

Question. I am only used to S&W when at the stage with the hammer back and trigger pulled, the cylinder is locked solid (or as close to it as possible). Just had a chance to handle a couple Taurus revolvers, a .22 and a .44 Mag. Both had wiggly cylinders when at lock-up with the hammer back...

How do you know you are getting old?

Your son beats you in shooting, that's how. Took my 14-year old son who does not shoot much (it's hot or cold with him - after all, he's a teen) to the range yesterday after his school day was over. Also took my piece-made AR-15 to shoot for the first time. He had not shot an AR-15...

Cops and damage to range question, your opinion here.

Thought I would bounce this one off the forum. Police in county using private club range to train. Damage was occuring (holes in roof) due to not having targets placed at end of range and angle causing bullets to strike baffles and go in directions that shooting from proper angle would not...

    The Cornered Cat

I found something here last night that I thought people should know about. It's a gun website aimed at women, but men can learn a thing or two, especially after I read a few "I'm getting a gun for my wife/girlfriend" threads. The advice column "Dear Gunhilda" is funny, too. :D It's THE...

Same question, different forum, Nazi markings

Hello all. I asked this question on THR, but have had no responses, only meatgazers (What we call people who look but do nothing else). Question is, with all those guns out on auction sites of certain types like Browning 1922's, HSc's, Mauser's, etc...that are marked with German markings...

    High Standard Supermatic Citations

How about them? Any good as a target gun? Better than a tuned Ruger, or not as good, etc... Any opinions helpful. The Doc is looking for presecription shooting meds here and is out now.

    First trap gun - recommendations

Okay gentlemen, suggestions wanted. I shoot rifles and pistols, but for some reason, have done very little with shotguns (except for what was carried in my squad car way back when). I have been cajoled into trap shoots now, and rather than borrow a friend's wife's Remington 870 (which really...
