New gun how many rounds is too many for the first time using my EMP? I bought 300 rounds of varius ammo. I would be switching between guns, to give it a little of a cooling off period.

I just got an EMP, and I can not break it down to clean. I am not gun illiterate, but this is my first 1911 and I can not remove the firing spring. I can seperate the slide, and lower, but can not get the firing spring or barrell out of the slide.

It seems that all I have around me is Academy, and Bass Pro. Niether carry a lot of 1911's or a big selection. Is there a real gun store in the area?
