    are there any lube alternatives at the grocery store?

    i planned on using wonderlube 1000 or bore butter on my new 1860 pietta but reading another thread here made me think.... hummm some kind of lubricate thats not petroleum based.. olive oil i read? crisco? im a cheapskate lol whats laying around the house that would be as good as bore butter...

    finally got my 1860 army!

    well ive been wanting a 1860 army and got a nice one! beautiful pietta pistol deep blue finish. the walnut grips are a "lil" dark but very nice. the fit n finish is very good, only complaint would be the wood grips aligning with the backstrap.. the wood is about .008 higher than the backstrap...

    how did they load back then?

    how did they load the cap and ball revolvers back in the old west? each cyl by hand or did people use wooden loading stands? i see these loading stations that you take out the cyl... which are nice but i might want to load my army without disasembly. i was just wondering how did they do it on...

    i just ordered a fr18602 44cal army pistol and am wondering what caps and balls should this thing want? no 11 caps "squished" possibly and .454 balls? im going to shot hornadys. anyone have any good expiriences with this pistol? thanks! gus

    am i being too picky or is somthing wrong?

    ive got a euroarms 1851 brass frame 36 navy. i can take it apart and play with it but when i did tonite i noticed somthing. the barrel to cylinder clearance is weird. tight on the left and ok on the right(viewed from the top). i did have a lower locating pin problem but the barrel to frame...

    ive got a 36 navy and im anxious to shoot soon. i dont have balls yet but i think i want hornady 375's. i know the 380s are tighter but im not crazy about the cast balls + i dont know what the gun is going to like. the 375s are cheap enough to start with i guess? im going to use wonderwads...
