what would be a good and easy caliber for my mom to use when she gos to the range for the first time? i'm not sure if she'd be able to handle my 9mm beretta. i'm thinking maybe a 22 (my brother has three of them) what are your thoughts?

is there any benefits to having wood grips on say something like my beretta 92d.or would it just be for looks? the grips that are on it now are like a rubberized plastic grips. was thinking about changing them.
