I just got a used M1A, some of the fine folks here suggest that I check the head space before shooting it. I appreciate the words of caution. How do I check the head space? Do I need special tools? What is the potential danger of shooting an M1A that does not have the proper head space?

Is there anyone out there that sells a bullet less than 185 grain for 45ACP? (for reloading)

I've got a Kimber 1911 in 45 ACP that I want to put a red dot on, but I don't want to drill and tap it. I've tried the mounts that replace the grip and don't care for them. Is there something that would mount in place of the rear sight??? I'd also like it to be a 1 - 2 MOA dot. Any ideas????

I'm using BL-C2 for my .308 and it seems to be a hard powder to clean. The barrel is a dark charcoal, almost black (in the rifling), even after a lot of cleaning. Is there a powder with the same burn speed the shoots cleaner???

I finally got the Savage 6.5 dialed in. I used 50.5 grains of 4831 with a 142 grain SMK. It shoots real tight groups and runs at 2850 FPS. After I got the rifle I had a Vias break, a 20 MOA scope base and a used Night Force (12-42 power) scope installed. I had some ballistics info ready...
