What was the most common barrel length on the Colt Bisley? I've done several general web searches, but off the top of my head I'm not certain where to look for that bit of info.

I've always wanted a Model 70 in .300 Savage, but as a factory original such a critter would be beyond my means. Would converting a .22/250 to .300 Savage be just a straight rebarrel, given that the parent case is the same?
