    ammo question

So I took my wife shooting and rented a 360PD, she is interested in the 642 and the 360 is as close as they came at the range. My wife decided that the gun kicked too much for her tastes even though she was able to shoot it pretty well. I too noticed a lot of kick for non +P .38 special ammo...

    Cor-Bon Glaser ammo

I was reading a review of the S&W 340 M&P by Jeff Quinn over at Gunblast.com. A gun I am very interested in owning. :) http://www.gunblast.com/SW-340MP.htm Mr. Quinn says he carries a 342 every day and loads it with Cor-Bon Glaser +P ammo only and also suggests it for the 340 in .357. From...

    Pachmayr question

I have a 629 4 inch with the Houge grips it came with. While I like these grips ok, I find that they are a little on the thin side and don't fill my hand real well. Are pachmayr a little wider then Houge? I read that they have a slight palm swell in them, this sounds like it may fill my hand...

    Ruger in CA question

Does any one know why the Bear Cat or the New Single Six, is not approved for Califronia? Is it that Ruger doesn't want to go to the trouble, or is it something else? Thanks -D BTY how do you make any sense of the Gov. list of approved guns. The model #s for the guns are different.

    Wild West Tech

I just watched a really cool wild west tech about the evolution of the revolver. Neat to see how it was developed and all the different models that came and went. One of the first revolvers, the Walker Colt , a .44, weighed in at 4.5 pounds. It was HUGE! They would carry it in holsters...

    .38 specal +p question

Hey folks, I'm looking to get a sp 101 .357 soon for easy packing on fishing outings. I was kinda looking forward to shooting cheaper ammo at the range than I can with my .44 and sure there is a lot of cheaper .38 special ammo of certain sorts. However I was suprised to see the cost of...

    Want to get started.

Well, I have decided that I need to learn how to hand load. I am tired of paying 20+ bucks a box for ammo and having to take what they have in .44 special, which is usually some sort of cowboy load, which my gun does not like and spits all over the place. I tie my own flies for flyfishing and...

    629 question

Hi everyone, I was cleaning my 629, just a little oil on the outside to keep it happy. While doing this I noticed a small "pin" hole under the front sight. I am tring to remember if there was a pin in there at one time or has it always been empty? Could some one check out their 629 and...

What do you make of this?

http://www.again.net/~steve/page8f.htm Some one else posted this on another thread. I was looking at the data for different ammo and...... well some of it it seems pretty odd. Compare the .357 and .38 special and the .44 special and the .44 mag. (not a lot to look at with the .44 mag)...

    .44 special test.

I e-mailed the Box O Truth guy to ask if he would test the .44 special. He said that he would probably do so in the future. So keep your eye on that site for that test. Should be neat to see how it stacks up to the .45 I also wanted him to test a .410 000 buckshot load (1135 fps) but he did...

    Want a .410 load tested.

I am trying to get the Box O Truth guy to test a .410 shell of 000 buckshot at 1135 fps for HD. Just out of interest, and to see if I am right. My stance is that the .410 has PLENTY of power just less shot. (fps says it all) The 000 shell has 5 pellets in it. At HD distance the pellets will...

    interesting facts

I found interesting. This is from an artical written from a LEO point of view. The average shootout happens at 7 yards. But here is the kicker, and shows how averages can be misleading, 85% happen at 5 to 10 feet. The other 15% happen at alot further than 7 yards. This is for police...

    S&W prices up?

I was just looking at S&W web site..... did their MSRP just go up?? Some of the light weight guns are over a grand now. (MSRP) Also, what is up with the "no price" listed for some guns on the site, like the .44 mountain gun for examp?

    629 back from S&W

I posted a while back about fired shells getting stuck in the cylinder of my 629 and binding it up. I sent it back the second time for the same problem a week ago. It came back today with a new cylinder. No explination just " replaced cylinder" on a sheet of paper. Having a new cylinder...

    S&W vs Ruger

Looking at the posts here there seem to be way more talking about S&W than Ruger. Why is that?? What to you think?
