Low Velocity ammo for close ranges ?

Anyone know of plane-friendly or anti-personnel projectiles for use in confined spaces or near fragile equipment ? I understand ADI makes some made of "red talc" for this purpose and it will not cause de-pressuration but will cause casulties. My inquiries have drawn a blank. Is this...

    Patched linotype bullets @2,000FPS ?

 I have been informed that non-gas check linotype projectiles have been pushed to 2,000 FPS by someone called Cast Bullets Inc in USA? They use cigarette papers on a template and lube the patch I am told, but information is hearsay and verbal. I am very interested if this is true...

    Dirty linotype - the solution?

Having problems with flecks of dross/dirt in the projectile surface after lead-casting LEE ingots and some .308 rifle bullets. Material is bulk linotype bar from an old newspaper source and very hard indeed. I have fluxed 8 times and still get the dross appearing, leading to a 60% rejection...

    Mould questions, got 3 in a 'job-lot' to-day.

WELL...Possibly making an error of judgement(yet again)- I bought some lead bullet 'bits and bobs' to-day sight unseen from a club-member to our north. It included Alox, handles and an enclosed type pourer-ladle by RCBS The trouble is -I don't know what a lot of them are for! Could a more...

Disappointing 12GA slug loads -advise please.

I have been loading a standard home-cast (consistent @ 450/445 gn)LEE with 29 gn 800X or SR fold-crimped - as per Lyman Book, out of an unrifled 18" slug(CYL) barrel. Ease of use, lack of fouling and barrrel fit is A1 - but.... Accuracy is only a 1 foot group at 50Metres with 10 shots...

Leaky valve on Lee Electric Leadpot.

I bought an beaten-up and dirty old Lee 10lb leadpot yesterday for $25AUD and it works well, but it has a leaky bottom-pour valve, which drips a lot. I intend to cast bullets,12GA slugs and 'sinkers' for slingshots. It would be nice to stop this ...but not essential I suppose, but the rest of...

Please see the posting under 'shotguns' in this bulletein board. If you can help it would be appreciated as I have heaps of linotype lead available. I am thinking of going into production of a "turkey" 12GA 3" Mag load of super-hard pellets(for pest crows) made at home on a "Shot-Maker"(electric...

Use of linotype lead for shotgunning?

Anyone have any info on making home-made shot from linotype to close up patterns...not unlike a US "turkey load"? I have my eye on a Shotmaker(electric) and I have heaps of linotype lead in the shed. I worry about pressures a bit. [Incedentially 1OZ 12Ga Slugs made of linotype and patched-no...

Anyone out ther had problems with +5% non-chambering with new Winchester brand S&W 40s using a black "petal" type metal jacket? Well we have had problems with brass 'bulges' way over spec near the head, leading to stoppages in Glock pistols on our range. Yes...well - I too made the usual...

    ME 303British projectile.

I own a converted Martini-Enfield to .303BR(nom .312") new barrel 1913. I have been experimenting with larger than normal projectiles due to normal wear on a probably originally oversize bore. Re-lining is a too expensive option. Slugging the bore has been un-successful due to lack of suitable...

    Lead shot ranges.

Following some FL members' disbelief that smaller lead shot could be a problem at 300 yards, I found a "large tear-drop" "#5BR" in amongst some 10lb of reloader shot recently purchased, produced by a well-known maker. It was X2 the size of a #5BR size and would therefore go somewhat further when...
