Smith & Wesson model 42 lemon squeeze .38 special

I recently quit working as a 10+ year pawn shop manager, to pursue my own ventures. Working as such, I've become quite a firearm collector and for the last few years a s&w collector and revolver enthusiast. I was able to pick up a beautiful 15-4 and 34-1 with original boxes. While I love to...

    Business question

I have kind of a weird question that I'm not sure who to ask and thought maybe someone here may have insight I've managed a pawn shop for the past ten years and have recently decided to start a business of my own doing practically the same thing. I intend on simply buying merchandise for...

    Good ol Winchester 37

I recently put a Winchester 37 in .410 ga on layaway for the low price of $70. It is a red letter gun, which apparently means something. The entire gun over is covered in surface rust. I cleaned the bore before making the deal and it came out nice and shiny so I'm thinking a lot of this may...

    Reasonable price to pay?

I have an old Rossi in .32 long that the timing is very slightly off on one chamber, and only in double action. It is consistently off on the one chamber in double action. I'm just curious what would be a general price range in would expect to pay to have this fixed? It is similar to j frame Smiths.

    Smith and Wesson 34-1

I just layed away this little guy. A 34-1 that I learned was likely made in 1971(s#m26301). It's got the original box with it and is in nice shape overall. Hopefully paid a fair price as it was comparable to what is on GunBroker. They had this one marked at $699 and I'm paying $575. It'll...

    s-beam/ati mb3-r shotgun

We've recently started selling these new at my shop for around the $200 price point, which is inexpensive considering you get the pistol grip and butt stock. I wouldn't normally consider buying a cheap/Chinese gun like this, but it's perked my interest as they are imported into my hometown and...

Tell me all about Smith and Wesson's model 27

I have the opportunity to scoop up a nice Smith and Wesson 27-2, serial number N214351. I'm looking for any information regarding this particular gun and this model in general. I picked up my first Smith recently, a beautiful smith 15-4 w/ box and papers. This revolver is just the gun itself...

Stevens 320 12 ga pump shotgun

$200 for a new shotgun is a great price point. I realize they are Chinese from sun city machinery (?). They ought to be reliable enough for the occasional range duty and back up home defense? How bad could a pump gun be?

    Smith and Wesson 36-1 question

I'm eyeing one of these for sale for $399 but it is not a perfect gun. It has aftermarket cracked grips. Some slight surface rust here and there. But the most debatable thing in my mind(though it may not matter?), Is that two of the chambers in the cylinder have some pitting inside. The bore is...

    Rossi r92 .38/.357 questions

We had one of these stainless lever guns come out for sale at my pawn shop but it appears modified. The safety is missing completely and so is the loading gate. A quick Google search makes me believe some people do these things intentionally, but should I be worried about buying such a gun. It...

    Winchester stainless marine

I recently saw one of these for the first time, it's for sale at my shop. This is not the 1300 model. It is only labeled as a stainless marine. I understand it is an all stainless gun, with a chrome plating on top of that, for the truly perfect boat gun. But wow, these things are pricey. The...

Old Rossi in .32 long, looking for info

I have an opportunity to buy this little revolver at my shop for what I consider a good price, sub $180. It also fits the bill for what I've been looking for: an inexpensive, low maintenance, worry free glove box gun. I want something I can pocket between the house and the car and vice versa...

    Rossi 62 sa won't chamber a round

I have owned this rifle for about a year. I took it to the range today for the first time, and was disappointed to find it wouldn't chamber a round. The action seems to be functioning correctly. I was using Winchester .22lr out of a 555 brick. I have owned one of these pump .22s in the past and...

Building my first modern sporting rifle

Firstly, I'm sure there have been numerous threads like this, but I'm hoping to get advice on parts choices to build this rifle. Secondly, economy is priority. The lower the price the better, but if a slight price difference yields worthwhile gains, that's the kind of parts I'm hoping to be...

    Skb/Ithaca 600 over/under 12 gauge

I picked one of these shotguns up recently from my pawn shop. I've yet to shoot it but am generally pleased with the quality of the fit and finish. This the first over/under I've ever owned. I realize these shotguns haven't been made for some time. Are there any weak points that if broken...

    Marlin model 80 dl

I recently layed away a Marlin model 80 dl. I run a pawn shop for a living and recent had to cover a store one day that I don't normally work at. They had this rifle sitting on the wall on clearance, being that it had been there over six months. I looked it over and read a little about it. The...

Introduction/ Smith and Wesson 15-4 price opinions

Hello, my name is Joe and this is my first post here. I'm from Charleston, sc. I'm a 26 year old who has been collecting firearms for a few years now. I manage a pawn shop, so I constantly see things I drool over. However, we do not get the greatest employee discounts and I can usually sell...
