    LR-308 over gassed?

Several years ago I picked up an LR-308 sportical with a 16'' barrel. I've switched over to a standard A2 stock and buffer which helped mitigate the recoil and violence of the action. But regardless of what I do, the recoil and shock transmitted through the rifle is pretty extreme. I've shot...

    Winchester 1892 identification (pics)

So I'm visiting my father and found an old winchester lever gun. He told me his father gave it to him and he's not entirely sure where it came from. I was able to determine that it's an 1892 winchester made in 1894. It's covered in surface rust and I wanted to smack my dad upside the head for...

226 recoil absorbing guide rod identification

Found this guide rod that has a plunger in the end of it. Also has a slide bushing. Any idea who makes it? Is it worth keeping or should I put a stock guide rod in?

    .303 british markings

My grandfather gave this to me about 15 years ago. It shoots straight and the bore is clean. It's a sporterized SMLE. I'm really curious about the stock markings though. Sadly, I have no way of tracing this rifle back to it's origins.

Anybody make a halfway reliable auto loading .44 mag?

Seems like there are a lot of issues with the desert eagle line of guns with jamming due to crap springs and mags. I'm familiar with the model 29 revolver and can shoot it with accuracy...for about 18 rounds. I'm willing to bet that something with a reciprocating slide might absorb a little...

    G21 light strikes

Have a Leo trade in 3rd gen g21. Consistent light strikes. Replaced firing pin spring with factory glock one and also wolf 6 lb. I find that I can take these slightly dimpled rounds and re-feed them and they still don't fire. I think my pin is the wrong size and not going forward far enough...

    Help ID this old rifle

My dad sent me this and said his buddy found it when his father passed away. What is it? I told him to take pictures of any markings.

Elk hunting Colorado. LR-308 "too much"?

I'm going elk hunting next month in Colorado with my father and bunch of older guys. Never been after elk before. As I understand it, there is a fair chance I will have to make a long shot. All of my bolt rifles are old sporterized ww2 relics. I do however have an LR-308 16'' with decent...

Extending length of pull without recoil pad

I'm 6'4'' and got long arms and the magpul MOE stock on my LR-308 felt wayyy to short for me. I like the telescoping stock, but all the way extended it just didn't sit right. I know magpul makes some 3/4'' butt pads but that would still only be about 1/2'' thicker than the factory pad. This...

    DPMS LR-308

Picked up a dpms oracle a couple months ago. Swapped the stock and hand guards out for magpul and troy goodies. Rifle feels great and points well. This is my first semi rifle apart from a few marlin model 60s. I'm amazed at the accuracy and ease of follow up shots all the way out to 250...

    Building a FAL

Seems like since parts kits are going for more and more and are in short supply, I figured it's high time I build one. Sarco is supposedly getting more of Argentinian model IV's in at some point and I'm waiting for it. Topped with a coonan receiver. I've never built a rifle off of a kit...

    p226 trigger polish

I just picked up an older sig 226 made in 87'. Its a used police trade in. Even though I'm sure its had plenty of rounds through it, the DA pull still feels gritty. If I apply smooth pressure to the trigger I can watch the hammer move in jerky motions before it fires. I have a gray guns...

Picked up first handgun today. W. German p226

I grew up shooting nothing but deer rifles my entire life. My father considered pistols and semi automatics in general to be "unsafe" and never bought me a handgun in his name when I was under age. Many years later I was finally in a position to purchase. Settled on the p226. Mine is a LEO...
