    FireStick.... is it a muzzleloader?

A muzzleloader that's not really a muzzleloader. You only put half the load in from the muzzle. How far can they stretch "muzzleloading" to accommodate people who don't want to use a muzzleloader, but want that extra hunting time? https://www.federalpremium.com/firestick.html

    Gettin ready fer Spring

I got out in the yard today and began getting ready for casting this year. I had this one last 60# box of wheel weights that I needed to sort and smelt and I had been putting it off for a few years, just because I don't like doing that, but it's the last box and it was time to get it out of the...

    Puttin' on the grease....

I got a cool new lube stick mold today. I do powdercoat a lot, but I have to also feed 10± lubesizers that I have as well. So I'm going to make my own lube. You can make your own mold block, but there's a fellow on castboolits that sells em already made and saves the trouble. I just need to get...

    Got a new one today.

I haven't seen one of these before, but I just had to snag it once I saw it. I think it'll be fun in my .45 Seneca or my .45 Hawken. Does anybody else have one? Sorry it's a little big. Photobucket wanted it to be big for some reason. {Edit: Size fix: You can Google on photo image resizing...

    A blast from the past....

Just posting a few pictures to keep the board moving along. Here's a few of the Mihec 45-70 160gr bullet that I got 5 years ago. The MiHec .460 Collar Button mold. :) Cast up with some soft alloy. Enjoying a hot soak in beeswax, olive oil, and 1/4 of a red crayon. Ready for a quick trip...

The 41 Keith HP is here!!

It's here, it's here!! I've been wanting one of these for quite a while. I have the solid version and have wanted the HP version but it has been sold out for a long time. So I called up NOE directly and explained what I wanted and that it hasn't been in stock for a long time, and while I was on...

    Saturday's here, what to cast?

Saturday's here and the sun is out and the forecast is for 80° with "comfy sun" as the weatherman put it. What to cast? Get out some molds and clean em up for casting. It's gonna be a great day!

What a beautiful weekend! What's in your pot?!?

We have wonderful weather here. It's time to make use of it before the sun gets too close to the earth and the skeeters fly back from GA or wherever that tornado took them. We've enjoyed two+ weeks without them though. Break out the PID's and the hot plates and let's get the casting pot hot!! :D

    Lyman 452626 A&B

Has anybody got any experience with these? Supposedly, you cast a pure lead nose section and then you cast the body out of wheel weight or harder and then you can epoxy/glue or whatever the ultra-soft nose section down into the body of the SWC bullet. I'm thinking powdercoat would hold it down...

    Introducing the MP 41-265TS

Got a new MiHec mold this week. I'm pretty excited about this one because of all of the options that can be made from this one mold. I only had one .41 mold before now and it was a solid, so I can finally make some decent HP's for it. I do love a hollow point bullet.

    Sometimes we get lucky

I just happened to be in the right place at the right time and found a gentleman who was cleaning out his casting room and by chance he had bought two of my favorite bullet style molds in a Group Buy about 8 years ago and had never used them. So I asked what he'd take for them and he was very...

    The MP 432 Hammer

I just got this one on Monday. It was a Group Buy from MiHec and I was really excited for it to arrive. I put it together this morning and I loaded just the shallow HP pins to begin with. It comes with shallow, deep, penta and solid point pin sets. Then I ran it through three heat cycles...

It's the New Year! Let's cast!

So who's making bullets in the New Year? I'm going to try to get out to the shed tomorrow and see if it's flooded out. We have had rain for a solid week.... something like 10" of rain. But the sun is supposed to return this weekend and hopefully I can wade out there and drop some lead. :) I'd...

    Christmas Eve bullets!

It was a beautiful day for casting. 59° and not a cloud in the sky. I got out in the shed and fired everything up and ran about 25# of lead through the ProMelt. It was a great casting day. I just got a .41 BH and being new to me, I didn't have a single .41 bullet on hand. Now I should be good...

    New-old-stock mold ready for action

Ain't this one a beauty! It's the NOE 432-290 FN in hollow point with plain base. I had a fellow ask me for some 315gr .44 bullets and I was looking for the heaviest ones I had, and I discovered this one in the back of the cabinet. I had forgotten it somehow and so now it's time to put some...

    .440 balls

Well, I didn't cast em, but I happened to run across an ol' boy who was selling 32# of soft cast .440 round balls for a buck a pound. That translates out to 1,566 balls, by my comps and should keep the ol' Seneca smokin' for days to come! I do enjoy casting round balls, but if I can get em for...

    Hooray...... Photobucket lives again!

I don't know what happened, but our pics are no longer hostage. :) The old threads make sense again and all of our great bullet pictures have been restored! :D I guess they found out nobody was going to stay if they raised the price to a few hundred bucks, when it had previously been only $10...

    MiHec .44 Terminator

Made quite a pile of these today. Used nearly a whole pot (ProMelt). Half round HP, half penta HP. This oughta keep my 44 six shooter happy for a while. These also are as-cast, so I haven't culled yet. You might see wrinkles or round bases, so don't get too excited. ;) This is one continuous...

    Dumping out the 200's

I fired up the custom Lee 358430 mold today (200 grains). That thing will go through em fast. I dropped a little over 10# this afternoon. I didn't weigh em, but the ProMelt was full to the brim (I believe that's 18#) and I used about 3/4 of it. It was a good session. Not too hot yet, not too...

Even a blind hog finds a new gun..... or something like that...

Man, I am not one known to be often lucky. But a short time ago, I was perusing gunbroker one night as per usual and just making a wish list and noticed this nice new Cimarron Model P in .44-40 was on there, and so in passing I just dropped a bid of $355. That was more to mark it so I could...
