    Just showing off a little

Here's my new model 66 with some new Miculek grips(or is that grip, since it's one piece?) This feels really good in my hand, can't wait to shoot it with these on. The old Uncle Mikes that came with the gun, abraded my hands after a session shooting .357 factory stuff. I just prefer smooth...

    Ala Dan was right

About the beginning of the year, I was looking to get another .357 revolver and chose a Taurus Tracker, mostly due to the ported barrel and the price. At that time Ala Dan advised me to buy a different revolver, he suggested a Smith, but mostly just NOT Taurus. Well, I liked the Tracker's looks...

    Robar finish on Springfield

Just got my SA back from Robar yesterday, all I can say is YES! Very nice job, they took out my rookie scratch near the slide stop!;) . The NP3 finish is a grey, sorta Ti looking effect, very nice. The Roguard finish on the slide is a deep black satin, also classy. I took it apart and relubed...

    M-1 info sources?

My son asked for my help in finding out about an M-1 he has. Now, I'm really a pistol sorta guy, so I hope someone can point me towards the 2 or 3 "best" online sites to do a little research on his rifle. TIA

    Revolver in IDPA

I've been in IDPA for almost a year now, like it a lot and have classified in two divisions so far. I've decided to go for being classified in all four, so I need to purchase a revolver. I have pistols that work in the other three divisions already, but the revolvers I own don't fit the rules (7...

    New Hume holster

The new holster for my Sig 239 from Don Hume arrived today. Couldn't wait to get it home and see how the fit was. Looks beautiful, it's the H724, in black, with sight rails stitched in and molded very nicely. The pistol fits very well, snug, but not so snug as to impede the draw. I also got...

    Latest arrival

Picked up my Sig P239 today after work, just finished cleaning it and had to take a shot or two. Love the ease of take-down and re-assembly, very simple. I've got the pistol, but my new holster(Hume 724), grips (Hogue Pau Ferro) and extra mags are all either in transit or being made. I'm...

    Mag Ext. for Mossberg?

Well, I've looked in a few of the more obvious places, (Mossberg, Tacstar, Natchez etc) but can't find a magazine extension tube for my 500. Does anyone know of any sources? Mine is the 500 18.5"bbl with 5 shell capacity (w/plug removed). I'd like to add 2 more rounds if possible.

    Best compact 9mm non-polymer

I'm interested in adding a pistol as noted above, been looking at CZ, Ruger, Taurus. What else am I overlooking? Well, I guess Kahr, but I have not seen any of those in my area shops, so I don't know if these are nice or pos (no offence to Kahr owners). It's not legal for me to carry concealed...

    Oversize grips for S&W 60

I have been looking at all the grip makers and still don't see any quite big enough for my wife's model 60. I've checked Hogues, Ajax, Nill, Eagle, Pachmayer, Getagrip, probably a few more I've forgotten. What she'd like is a grip 1/4" thicker from side to side, up to a 1/2" bigger front to...

    Scope for .22 pistol

I recently bought a MKII target pistol(22/45 8" bull barrel) and I want to get a scope for it. I plan to set it up so I can shoot both with and without the scope. My basic question revolves around whether a red dot type or "regular" scope would be better? I only have experience with one other...

Price check - Ruger MKII Competition

I know a dealer who'll sell me a MKII Competition model new for just under $400. I was considering a S&W 22a competition model, but I've been told they are prone to break and are not very well made. The Smith is going for $299 here, but I don't want to end up with a problem, just to save some $...

    Wife = new gun owner!

So, been bugging the ole gal to get a gun of her own, not just shoot one of mine and !!! today she said ok, lets go look. We look over every snubbie in the store, I'm trying to steer her towards a GP100 3"; she test fires and handles that and Taurus and S&W, multiple models of each. I'm...

    Don Hume holsters

Just wanted to mention the great quality in the several models of holster that I have purchaesd from this company. Each one was very well made, fit each gun to a T, very reasonably priced and pretty quick service. I have two J.I.T. slides, one for a CZ 75B, the other for a Springfield. I also...

    Microlon, any experience?

At the gun show this past weekend, a fellow had a booth with a product called Microlon. This is reputed to be a dry film lubricant, penetrating the top surface of the metal and becoming an integral part of the metal it is applied to. It will not wear off (according to the literature), and cannot...

    1st IDPA match

Well, Sunday I shot my first match and I did better than I thought I would. I'm not yet classified, but I was afraid I'd miss all the targets etc. Didn't set the world on fire time-wise, just concentrated on shot placement. Got a 146.86 in ESP class, so I will have room to improve !!! ;) But I...
