question about my henry 357 lever

I have a question about my new Henry .357 lever action rifle. First it is a serious question, so don't tell me you should have bought a Marlin, Winchester, Uberti, ect LOL It has a different kind of safety; not a hammer half cock type like the hoo1 .22's I have. The hammer moves from side to...

model number of a 38 smith and wesson snub

I have an old Smith and Wesson .38 revolver with a 2" barrel and wood grips; the finish is blue. The only number besides the serial number is E-12 and in smaller engraving a 5 digit number. Is that the model number E-12? Or is that just designating this as a weapon made for the police?

    .38 snub nose shooting

What is the most accurate way to shoot a .38 snub? I have an unsteady right hand do to a previous injury. I usually shoot left handed or right handed with the left hand steadying the right, in the typical two handed fashion. I have a S&W snub with a 2" barrel; SA DA model 10-7. Even when I use...

    .38 special

What do you all think of the .38 special? I used to swear by it, but now other then using them for target practice, I can't see much else they are good for compared to the other choices(.357 mag, .40, .41 mag, 9mm) I am thinking of getting a .44 mag or special revolver to replace my .38 as my SD...

    NRA

For the record I believe, without the NRA we would have had our rifles and certainly our hand guns confiscated, a long time ago. I have posted before that IMO one should not always support the NRA(their positions that is not the organization) nor should one always oppose or support a particular...

what do you all consider the pros and cons of henry lever action rifles

What do you all like and dislike about henry rifles? I like the smooth action and reliability of them, I don't like the brass receiver as much as I thought I would, they are just a bit too heavy, but I think the Marlins are too light, and I don't like the loading port, I prefer the marlins more...

This is why I have a problem with all this HD talk.

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/42621540 The guy shoots some poor smuck for accidently pulling into his driveway, then he barracades himself in his house and the police are forced to arrest him. Now an innocent man, looking for his friends house, is in critical condition and police officers lives...

    henry 1860 lever action rifle

No I don't have one; I wish! OK I watch old episodes of 'Bonanza"; don't make fun of me lol. I am always seeing the Henry 1860 model rifle; seems like everyone has one. They must be prop replicas right? Even then they were worth tens of thousands of dollars each and very rare.

    questions

I have never hunted anything bigger then rabbits. Can someone tell me the basics for skinning and gutting a deer. With rabbits it is easy to just take them along with you and skin them later or better yet get your sister to skin them for you LOL, but I would like to know how to field strip a...

    is it just me

Is it just me, or do others feel like they want every gun they see? LOL I swear, I can't remember, the last time I saw a rifle and said I would'nt want that; especially lever action jobs. What I really want is an old lever action 12 gauge shot gun. I saw one in a terminator movie, the second one...

    stoeger double defense

I bought a stoeger double defense, coach gun in 12 gauge and a 20 for a girl I shoot with. The 20 is great, but the 12 misfires about 20% of the time(I have fired at least 200 rounds from it and it fails about 1 in 5 times) I never use remmington ammo, so it ain't the ammo. Any suggestions as to...
