I've got some scratches/rubs on a couple of firearms, a Colt Python (on the sight rib) and on a Browning falling block barrel. The Colt barrel rib is a satin finish. The Browning is a high gloss finish. I'm touching up some scratches/rubs with oxpho blue. The instructions say to rub it down...

It's one of those space age finishes on a Browning lever action (older model). I tried Wet or Dry 1500 grit but that's too coarse. It just dulls it completely. I'm looking for something to just take the high gloss off while allowing it to continue to shine.
