What's your favorite Tikka Hunter recoil pad? The factory Tikka pad is hard as a rock.

I took my rifle to a local gun smith. Just for a cleaning & copper removal. Maybe 500 rounds through the barrel. He sold me a lapping job. I think I was sold. any reason to do a lapping job when a rifle is already accurate?

I have my Dad's Ruger 10/22 Carbine from the 80's era. Wood stock. What's the furthest this can be reliable at with a nice scope? Can it get consistent at 200 yards ? I'd like to turn it into a Coyote gun.

7mm-08 BAR. I had a well known gun smith work on it. Redid the crown, bedded it, cleaned it professionally. Still doesn't group. I tried light & heavy loads. All different ammo. I'm ready to move on. Any ideas what to do with a rifle that wont group ?

Just brought a Tikka lite hunting rifle. 4 little screw in plugs have to be removed to mount a scope. Not 1 will spin out with a screw driver. Long story short, they are plastic, and need to be punched in and land in the action or throat. So stupid that anyone would sell a rifle like this..

I had 2 misfires in my Mossberg ATR .243. Quality Hornaday SST ammo. Primer had a light dent. But the 1st time I ever had a misfire in the rifle. Put the 2 misfires into my Browning, and they fired fine !! Is there something wrong with the firing pin in the Mossberg ?

I have a BAR that was not broken in properly. I just went to the range, and sighted in my scope, without thinking of barrel break-in. Now, it's not so accurate. It doesn't group well, and strings as it heats up. Is there a way to start over, and stabilize the barrel ?

My Remington 750 has a 9-1/8" twist. 100 yards, it's OK. 2-3" groups. Enough for a deer. 200 yards, it doesn't group at all. 100 gr ammo. What ammo weight does a 9.125 twist like? I like the .243 100 gr for deer. The exit wound is like a meat ball. But I need to go out to 200 yards.

What magnification do you recommend for shooting to 500 yards.
