NOw we really dont have that much cold here in alabama but the other day I took out some cast bullet loads in 7.62x39 with heavy bullets at what c.e.harris had listed as near top loads with aa 1680 powder that had run like a champ back in the summer and they wouldn't cycle my sks...anyone else...

    38 s&w loads with 148 hbwc

Well I finally got a set of dies for reloading 38 s&w (not special) for the little top break H&R that I bought and repaired....So now it is time to see if I can improve the accuracy any since the gun is so much fun to shoot..I was thinking that hollow base wad cutters should help with the...

    38 s&w (not special)

Just got an old top break running agian and have fired a few factory loads through it from remington and winchester that leaded like crazy. Since it is a top brake will have to keep loads low but thathas never been a problem for me (I have to be careful not to make my 38 special loads to low)...

    H&R "new" model hammerless

I enjoy oddities and am cheap..about 2 years ago I bought a small 5 shot hammerless revolver at a gunshow in "non functional" condition. After tracking down a few parts and making a pin(lost that one myself while working on it) it is up and running again. It is a harrington and richardson top...

Ok so I think too much..I haven't even found the gun yet but am looking for a nef 45/70 and all the reloading supplies and I thought the 450 grain mould from lee looked pretty good(I know everyone says the steel moulds are better but I have had pretty good luck with lee and can buy 3 for the...

    cartridges introduced in 1873 (45/70, 45 colt, and ?????)

I've been considering getting a 45/70 rifle and have been doing a lot of reading about the cartridge and I recall seeing a picture somewhere saying 1873 was a good year because of 3 cartridges introduced that year and I am almost sure that two of them were the 45/70 and 45 colt but I cannot...

what "level" 45/70 are h/r nef singles??

As I'm sure many are aware there are at least three levels of 45/70 power. Black powder/trappdoor is weakest. Then there is marlin 1894/modern. Then there is ruger# 1/apc stoppers. But what I have never seen is where the "affordable" break open single shots like NEF makes fit in to these levels...

feasablity/ cost of rebarrel yugo/cz mauser to 35 cal

I have a dream... O.K. so basically I think about things too much but the question is could I buy one of the yugo 48/48a rifles that I have been seeing around alot and have it rebarreled/rechambered to 358 winchester or 35 whelen (would prefer 358 winchester) for reasonable expense. I don't know...

    .35 sks/ak

This is just a thought I had and thought I would put it out there. I have had very little(read: none) smithing experience and am a novice reloader so just questioning they fesability of rechambering/rebarreling the sks or ak to a necked up 357x39 cartridge made from 7.62x39 brass. I think I've...

    How does 32 acp headspace?

I've been running through factory ammo in my p32 and now have enough brass to think about reloading some now but was just wondering if this round headspaces on mouth or rim. That little rim is enough to cause rimlock troubles but I don't know if it is enough to headspace off of but when I was...

    100 grain 38 wc

Has anyone ever reloaded using the 100 hundred grain wadcutters from 3d ammo? I found them when looking for a light load to practice with in a derringer and got reasonable results with a small charge of bullseye.(first post not sure about putting specific amounts up yet).
