New to me, Ruger .44 Magnum Redhawk

Found this 1995 model in a local pawn shop at a decent price. 5.5 inch barrel, Hogue grips. I want to replace the sights with MepPro Tritium sights. I have a Galco belt holster for it. I am going to tote this one along on night time hog hunts in the swamp.

    SIG p290 rs

Found a deal on two of these little 9mm pistols the other day. Boxes, papers, three mags, locks, Tritium sights and holsters. $525 for the pair. Triggers are going to take some getting used to, but both are quite accurate at 7, 10 and 25 yards. They like 115 grain best. My first SIG Sauer...

Elzetta light mount for my 870

After looking at several different light mounts, I ordered the ZSM from Elzetta. It was easy to install, and I used a Surefire Fury light. My left thumb reaches the on button with no problems. The light is more than bright enough, at 500 lumens.

    White Light on my AR

Recently, I added a Surefire Z2X light to my Spikes Tactical AR. This is the rifle that I set up for HD, and found that it also makes a dandy night time hog hunting rifle.

Finally got the old Model 10 going again

I swapped a (free to me) Makarov for an older Model 10. I had my 'smith go over it, and replace the springs, check the action for smoothness and function. What I did not have checked, was the barrel. Turns out that in the past, someone had tried to replace the front (pinned) sight, and...

    Old rifle, new scope

I pulled my old Savage 170 out of the back of the safe a month or so back. I took it up to my gunsmith, and had him change out a few parts, and tune it up. I ordered a Pentax 1/75-5X scope from CameraLand NY, and got that mounted. Today at the range, the little slide action rifle is back...

    Component woes

I guess hand loading for my .38 Special revolvers is going to be on hold for awhile. I loaded 200 rounds this morning, and started looking for some more components. I checked 14 different online sources today, looking for the Sierra 140 grain .357 bullets that I like. and found none in...

    A good looking old timer

I picked this up the other day. Colt Police Positive in .32 Colt. Evidently a second generation, due to the serrated top strap and checkered Walnut grips.

    Help me out guys

I picked up, pretty much for free, a IMEZ Makarov, holster, two extra magazines, and 300 rounds of 9x18 ball and HP ammo. I will probably sell it, but I have no idea at all as to what I should ask. Any one bought or sold a Makarov lately that can shed some light? Thanks

    .38 Special

I have picked up a fair quantity of 140 grain Sierra Sport King JHP bullets at a very attractive price. I have plenty of new, unfired brass that has been sized and primed. Powders I have on hand are Blue Dot, 2400, SR4756, Unique and H110 Are these powders suitable for this cartridge? If so, a...

Great Deal from Natchez on Weaver Scopes

Natchez Shooter Supply is clearing out the Weaver Extreme Classic scopes. I picked up one of the 1.5-4.5 30mm scopes with the illuminated German #4 reticle for $249.00. This is a fantastic Japanese made scope that normally sells for well over $500.00. With the ARMS #2 mount, and their #21...

    Scoped the M1A

My Springfield M1A has national match sights. While it is great at target shooting, I wanted it to be more versatile. These days, you just never know.............. The scope is a Leupold VX-III 30mm 1.5-5x with the illuminated German #4 reticle. The mount is from ARMS, their #18. The rings...

An issue with a Taurus 85MULTI

I was given a Taurus revolver. This is an 85MULTI, a ported UltraLite Titanium snubbie in .38 Special. The issue with it, is that you can turn the cylinder with the hammer down. I know this is NOT a good thing, and have requested from Taurus, an authorization to return for repair. I was...

    Possible Second Amendment challenge

http://www.local10.com/politics/10485690/detail.html District of Columbia is arguing at the US District Court of Appeals, that the Second Amendment only applies to Militias, NOT individuals. This has been hashed around for years, but evidently its been 70 years since the Supreme Court has...

Gun Lust is a terrible thing

I was helping my Brother in Law with his table at the North Florida Arms Dealer show in Jacksonville yesterday. I was telling him that I have about decided to sell off some non military weapons, and concentrate more on the AR and M1A platforms, and less on hunting rifles. Then I looked at the...

    Twofer

after a bit of work this morning, I drove out to my Son's girlfriend's farm to look around. I brought a borrowed muzzle loader rifle, a little H&R, and some loads. While walking along the creek that borders the south side of a big hay field, I spotted an 8 pt buck. I was able to stalk to within...
