    4"-8" Wadcutter Velocity?

Guys, as some of you know, I am about to receive a Python 8" in .38 spl only. I've already decided that this gun will be fed lead only. As I remember, it used be that the velocity of a wadcutter would be measured out of a 6" barrel. Now, most of what I see is listed out of a 4". I'm planning on...

Colt Python Target 38 spl. Manufacture

Guys, I need your help here. I'm lusting for a Colt Python 8" blue in 38 spl. only! It is their Target model. I'm looking at two on gunbroker.com. I understand that Colt eventually dropped the 38 spl only due to lack of sales. True? Anyone know when these guns were manufactured? One is a used 8...

    Smith & Wesson Must Die

Well, after about 235 posts and reading literally a few thousand more I've come to the conclusion that S&W must go. Seeing far too many posts about people's gun rights being violated. Slippery slope and all that. I don't take my new position lightly, I do love their revolvers. Curse you TFL...

Secret Service and the .357 Sig + ATF

Had an interesting chat with a secret service guy that protects Cheney. He's about 6'2" and looked pretty capable. He's glad the service switched from 9mm and went with the .357 sig. They use a Speer load. First time I ever saw this round in the flesh. It looks MEAN. Anyway, I asked him about...

Genuine Non-Political Colt Detective Special Question!

Found this entry in gunbroker.com that really caught my attention: Original COLT Detective Special-Brand New-Unfired, Model # D1425, 2" 38spl. I know there are various models out there and was wondering what the range of years in making this gun for the above model number. It looks real sexy...

    200g Sub-Sonic in 38spl

Does anyone have any experience with a 200g sub-sonic lead round nose in 38spl? I have shot it out of my 586 357 mag (2-1/2") and I like it. I’m one of those slow, heavy throw weight type of guys as far as defense goes. Comments from anyone? justinr1

    Sellier & Bellot 357 158g Lists at 1394 fps!

Guys, the title pretty much speaks for itself. I just bought 100 rounds of this stuff to try out in my 686 8-3/8. I have shot by the case 45 ACP and 38 spl. Never a complaint. Last time I checked S&B's web site, I had thought they claimed 1250 fps in 357, but I'm now looking at 150 fps more...

S&W 686 Revolver Mods, Sanity Check Please

Guys: I have a 686 with 8-3/8” barrel. This is an absolutely beautiful piece, but I’m looking to make the gun a tad more accurate, but, just as importantly, increase it’s strength to handle a moderate diet of magnum loads. Other than a good tuning job, I’m thinking a reduced cylinder gap (.002...
