    Barnes TSX Bullets, Worth It?

Many reloaders seem to be opting for the TSX these days so I thought I'd give some a try. Went to Sportsman's Warehouse and they wanted $30 for 50 120g in 7mm:eek: (for my 7mm-08). That compared to roughly $10/50 for most cup & core Sierras, Hornady's etc. So why are they so darned expensive...

    Using an Autodisc for Unique

I'm curious how many here use a Lee autodisc type measure for Unique. I just started using mine (non pro) to drop 5.4g for .38 Special and it drops within .1 of a grain every time I've checked (a total of about 20 times). I have to say I'm comfortable using it now but is this something that...

    Reloader 15 loads for .243

I'm not having any luck finding RL 15 loads for 95 and/or 100 grain bullets for a 243. I'm loading for an autoloader. Thanks.

    Ruger P345 or Taurus PT145

I'm looking for a reliable, affordable, easily concealable .45. I've narrowed my choices down to either the P345 or PT145. The price is about the same at $350 for the Ruger and $330 for the Taurus. I would maybe consider another choice if it's in this price range. Right now I'm leaning toward...

How much higher can factory loaded ammo go?

I was nosing around a local fleet store yesterday and checked out what Federal Premium ammo is going for now. About $28 a box for 30-06, $34 for 7mm-08, and almost $60 for anything for a Weatherby. I guessing you can expect a lot more handloading noobs here over the coming months because...

    Factory Loaded With Extruded Powder

Just a curiosity question. Has anyone run across a factory load that uses an extruded powder? All the various rounds I've checked all use some form of ball powder, even the "premium" ones.

Barn Finds, Tell Us Your Stories

In my other hobby restoring old cars everyone dreams about the "barn find" where someone has a rare classic rotting away in a barn waiting for someone to find it, often for little money. I'm thinking there has to be some cases where maybe an old widow says "get rid of all that gunpowder and crap...

Any Tips on Reloading for Semi-Autos?

I've been working on some loads for my old 740 30-06 and a newer 7400 .243. I assume most recipes are developed around a bolt action. I'm guessing there may be some difference because of the gasses lost to cycling the action. I've tried some H414, H4350, and IMR 4064. For the 30-06...

    Copper Plated Vs. Copper Jacketed

Another question for the experts.:) The copper plated bullets for my .357 are a bit cheaper than the jacketed version. Do they work about as well and prevent lead fouling? Any other considerations? Thanks.

Unique, Blue Dot or Something Else

Since I'm an expert at reloading all my rifle cartridges:D now the time has come to start doing some handgun ammo. I would primarily be reloading 9mm and .357 mag but also some .38 special and 40 S&W. What would be a good choice for an all around powder(s) for them. Thanks.

    Hand Priming Remington 9 1/2s

The RCBS hand primer that came with my set worked great for CCI and Winchester primers but jammed with the Remingtons. Turns out the seating pin sat too high to allow them into the area under the shell holder. I ground off a little of the bottom of the pin to make it sit flush. I'm sure it's...

What's the purpose of nickel plating

I'm still a noob here so please bear with me. What is the purpose of nickel plating brass cartridges? I've got a bunch of .243 stuff that's plated that my manual says shouldn't be run through a non-carbide sizer.
