    Bird gun dillemma

Greetings, So I have had a Belgium Auto5 in my collection for awhile, and I just recently added a Remington 870 Synthetic with the 7 round magazine. My dad mentioned something about going hunting later this year. My problem is. The Auto5 is not meant to shoot steel. In my brief searching...

    Help choosing a model M1a

So initially, I was attracted to the short barrelled versions of the M1a, first the Socom II, then the Socom 16. But now I'm leaning toward a Scout in 18" barrel, it looks nicely balanced. It still gives up 4" to the normal 22" m1a. Am I losing much bullet performance or accuracy with the...

    Beretta Elite III?

So early last year, I was inquiring about some guns, and found some data about supposedly a Beretta Elite III was supposed to be released in the third quarter of 2008. So far I haven't seen anything. To be honest, I don't even know what special features were going to be on the gun. I...

    Gun topics on other forums

Do you ever feel like you are battling the mentally retarded when having gun topics on other forums (specifically non-firearm orientated forums)? I have to stop and come back to this forum just to regain my sanity. That is all. :D

    A question for Kahr owners

The magazine in my Kahr CW9 is a little strange I think. From the shape of the magazine, the lips hold the first round up at a slight angle, I assume to assist with feeding. The bullets below the 1st round though, are stacked at different angle. So there is a small gap. If I were to explain...

    Good manufacturers for aftermarket magazines

So I always prefer factory mags, but it seems I waited too long and some of the magazines I want just aren't available. What are some of the better manfacturers for aftermarket?

    metal targets

Anyone own some metal or reactive targets? I'm thinking about ordering from this company. http://www.metaltargets.com/ They are expensive, but it looks like they are using really hard steel and the shaped targets I think are laser cut to reduce weakening the metal. I'm half tempted to try...

    Converting the 870 Remington

I think I've seen a few people take a wingmaster 870 birdgun and switch to a smaller barrel and choke for defense. Could you do the opposite, and take a defense 870 and swap it to a bird barrel? I'm just wondering if you could keep the grips the same, and swap barrels, magazine extensions so...

Has the recent crisis and upcoming elections......

Changed your buying priority? I admittedly was looking at some guns for fun and collecting, like .22lr plinking and a Colt SAA (peacemaker), maybe another lever action. But now I think I'm going to be loading up on magazines, maybe a pistol or two and a couple more "evil" (cough, :barf: ) rifles.

    P228 vs P229 size?

Anyone know if the Sig P229 larger in size slightly? I already own a P228 and I'm wondering if the holsters and such will still work for a P229. I know sometimes they have to beef up the gun frame in order to handle the extra pressure of .40 round. Thanks

    H&K AR15 magazines

They are pricey at $60 a piece. Are they worth it? Anyone own a few?

    Mounting a gun safe

So I actually have one concrete anchor in place, using my trusty Dewalt 18Volt drill in hammer mode. But man the other three are wearing me down. Should I go rent a real rotary hammer? I thought about buying one of those $70 specials at Harbor Freight tools. Thanks

    Hunting "accident"

I know they call it an accident. Maybe it's just me, but the intended action and the result was exactly what occurred. Target was acquired, fired upon and hit. http://seattletimes.nwsource.com/html/localnews/2008092032_hikershot05m.html Opinions on the incident?

Airweight - spitting, is this common?

Along similar lines that I posted in the rifle forum. My 642 Airweight when firing, it seems to regularly spit powder or residue back at me. It is a bit uncomfortable. I kind of thought that was just the nature of the gun, but perhaps something is out of alignment? Is this something a...

new Winchester is "spitting" at me, is this normal?

I recently bought a Winchester Legacy in 45LC. I notice that this gun is a bit uncomfortable to shoot without glasses. As in residue seems to come flying back at me. This is my first lever action, and I was wondering if this is common. My smith and wesson 642 revolver seems to have this...

    A question for Beretta owners

I was at the range a few days ago, testing out my new Beretta 96. I happen to have a Beretta 92 with a Harrts recoil reducer. As part of my testing, I was swapping the guide rod between the two guns. The guide rod itself is identical on both pistols. What I didn't realize, was that the spring...

    10/22 stovepiping problems

I have had an annoying problem with stove piping on my 10/22 target. I thought it might be the extractor, so I replaced it with a Volquartsen extractor. Next I was going to blame the ramline 30rd magazines that I have, but shooting yesterday, it seemed to jam also with the stock rotary...

    Cleaning rod preferences?

I bought my cleaning kit a long time ago (almost 20 years?). Mine is currently metal, but I'm considering replacing it with a nylon system. Inspecting my barrels I don't see any extra wear, but it seems to make more sense. Should I bother replacing my metal rods, or is it unnecessary worry?

    Rock River arms .45

I've heard good things about Rock River arms AR-15's. How are their 1911's? Just wondering because I picked up their catalog from a local shop. I haven't heard good or bad either way.

A question about the Browning Auto5

My Uncle has had a Browning Auto5 in the family for awhile now. He never used it anymore and needed some cash so I bought it from him about 4 years ago. I've fired it in the past (over 15 years) but took it out again recently. I noticed on the left side of the shotgun, there is a lever on...
