    The Good Guys

Been thinking about good customer service. Like many of you, I can be pretty vocal when I feel I’m not being treated right by a vendor. Thought it was time I publicly acknowledged some folks who not only have quality products, but good customer service as well. Kudos go to Lou Alessi and...

    Rant and ??'s about QC

is it just me, or is good quality control and workmanship becoming a thing of the past? Details - most of what I own (and it's a bunch :) ) was purchased in the 60's, 70's, and 80's. My rifles from the 60's have good quality, non-lawyer type, smooth, light triggers. The lasr rifle I purchased...

    AA #9 for 45LC??

Anyone have any experience using AA #9 with a 250 grain RNFP lead bullet for 45 Colt? Accurate's web site reloading info doesn't list #9 at all for use with the 45 Colt, but I do remember seeing a reloading chart somewhere that listed this combo. I have a bunch of #9 on hand, and would like to...

    Help!

Have a 60's vintage Colt Trooper. The other day at the range, front sight ramp flew off the barrel! Almost looks like it may have been glued onto the barrel. Anyone know how, short of taking it to a gunsmith, I can try to put the sight assemby back on myself? Any particular glue that might work...

Gunspot -- Did I miss something?

Anyone know if something has happened to the Gunspot web site? When I try to access the URL http://www.gunspot.com I get a web hosting site that seems to have no connection to Gun Spot. It was working a couple of days ago.

    Kahr K9 grips

I know that Kahr themselves sell wood grip panels for the K9 Stainless Elite, but they are not what I'm looking for. I would be interested in either imitation ivory or a very dark wood for my K9. Web site searches so far have turned up zero. Anyone know who might make them? Thanks.

    1911 Value?

Harley, I have a 1911 (not A1) that has been the source of some controversy between a couple of smiths. One tells me it has little value, the other says a lot because it is an original 1911. The finish is parkerized, overall condition is probably 40 to 50%. Details as follows: Grips -...

    Help, what's it worth??

Could use some help, guys. I have an original 1911 (not A1) gov't. model, in maybe 40 to 50% condition. Took it to a local smith recently who checked serial #, and told me it was built in 1914. Also said because of condition, no particular value, just use it as a shooter. Talked to another smith...

    Little River Trading - HELP!

Some time back I remember a guy by the name of Frank Norman who posted here. I believe he owned Little River Trading Co., a source of Photon lights and custom knives. I tried to access the web site again a couple of days ago. The address is supposed to be www.littleriver.datasys.net, but now I...

    300 WinMag problems

Guys, Here's an email I got from a friend with 300 WinMag reloading problems. I'm out of my element here, so would appreciate help from someone. Thanks. "Fred: Hey do you find web sites on rifle stuff too? I suppose you do. I need your help here. As I am loading some hunting rounds for the...

    Help with Colt Trooper??

Need some help, guys. Have a 60's vintage Colt Trooper w/4 inch barrel. Unfortunately, my wife used some lousy reloads. Long story short is that 3 bullets stuck in the barrel and bulged it. Gunsmith who worked on it says "it should be OK to shoot" but would have changed barrel if one was...

All "Down Under", Californians & All, PLEASE READ!

I’m from Southern CA, and saw this letter to the editor in my local paper. I can’t vouch for the accuracy of the figures, obviously, but thought this might be of interest to you folks "down under", all Californians, as well as the rest of the gun owners. Anyway, here it is in its entirety: "It...

    Lyman 55 powder measure

Need some help. Am interested in buying a Lyman Model 55 powder measure for my reloading chores. Previously used a Lee Auto Disk, so am only familiar with the Lee concept of removable disks with different size charge holes. The ad for the Lyman mentions "micrometer adjustable slides". What are...

    .357 SIG Help

I'm new to this board and could use some help. I have a lot of straight wall reloading experience, but virtually none with bottleneck pistol (.357 SIG). I have heard and read that you must be careful as to which 9 mm bullets are used because a long bearing surface is needed for this case to grip...
