    S&W pro series worth it?

Specifically, the 627 and 686 are the Pro series version worth $110 or so more than the Plus versions? Are the triggers better in the Pro guns?

Help me pick my next 1911

OK, I have it narrowed down to two models: Remmington Carry Commander SA LW Range Officer. The Carry Commander is Remmington's top of the line series and is a lot of gun for the money. The thing is pretty beautiful, imo. The LW Range Officer, not to be confused with their garden variety RO...

Hornady lnl powder drop varies day to day.

I loaded 200 .45 last night on my LNL using 4.5 gr Titegroup. Tonight, I sat down to load some more and my powder drop threw 4.8-4.9 20 in a row. I had to add a 1/4 turn on the meter to get 4.5 consistently. All I did last session is dump the powder and work the lever arm a few times to get...

    Getting more out of Titegroup

I've loaded thousands of 115 gr plated LRN 9mm bullets using 4.0gr Titegroup, COL 1.15 . My spent cases are a bit dirty (sooty). Every load goes boom in all of my guns but they feel "spongy". I'd like to develop a load that feels more like a factory load but I'm not looking to push the limits...

Glock slide stuck with live round

I had an interesting problem with my G30SF yesterday... Shooting Tula .45 steel cased stuff (Yeah, yeah yeah...). Insert mag, pull trigger and get *click*. OK, no problem, rack slide and eject bum round except the slide will not budge. So I head home with a live round in the...

One rifle shoots fine, the other not so much...

One rifle (1:8 twist) shoots my reloads fine. the other rifle (1:7 twist) keyholes every shot! Under 3000 rounds through both rifles, bores look great (I clean after every outing) bullets are pulled M193 that look great and measure .224 wide. I'm using 24.5-24.7 gr H335, loading on Lee Turret...

    Loading to different sized cannelures

Hi all! First time reloading .223 and I have a question about some pulled M193 bullets I scored at a great price. The bullets have cannelures set at two different heights. Using the same oal for both yields a load with the cannelure barely showing at the top of one cartridge while the other...

Tell me about the 686 pro 4"

I'm thinking of selling my low mileage 686 plus snubbie that I really enjoy shooting because my local dealer put an 8 shot 4" 686 pro series in my hand, the one with the cool looking barrel. Man that thing feels good and the trigger, especially in DA feels really sweet. It's marked $899 plus...

    Making paper shooting fun?

Hello all. Being from an uber conservative state I am stuck shooting paper targets with my pistols. I shoot indoors frequently and am looking for some suggestions on how to creatively spice up my paper shooting. Right now, I do what I call a "one, two, three, four" which means I shoot 1 mag...
