    I'm Desperate, Clerke 1st help....

OK we all know the Clerke 1st revolvers were the largest POS revolvers ever made by man. A friend has one, Mother hand me down, lots of sentimental value. The step Father messed with it and in the process lost something like a spring or plunger that operates the hand. It sits on the trigger...

Silly question: 458 Socom AMMO in Dallas...?

Just wondered if anyone has ever seen any of this ammo for sale in the DFW area? Contemplating a purchase of the rifle and finding out ammo is hard to find. I will be reloading when I get the brass built up but I need new ones to start with.

    Lyman Tumbler Media

I just got some new media as my old ground walnut hull media was worn out and it was taking 4-6 hours to get my cases clean. Got a jug of TufNut media with the red rouge in it. What a difference in the time it takes to get them clean. I ran some 45 Colt cases that were fairly sooty and in two...

New style Lee Auto Prime Tool

I just used my "new" style Lee priming tool on some .357 cases. I had every 3rd or 4th primer flip sideways on me as it was transitioning itself from the load ramp to the area staged to be picked up next. I used two different brands of primers and both had the same issue. maybe I wasn't...

.454 Casull from a 4" or an Alaskan...?

What sort of speeds does the 454 get from a 4" or an Alaskan length barrel? I know we see published speeds nearing 2000 FPS but there is no way that is gonna happen in a short length barrel.

    Reloading just to be reloading....

OK so I get a couple of new revolvers, 45 Colt RedHawk and .357 GP100 4". Man I see why loading for .357 is so much fun and why the cartridge is so popular. Then I start with the 45 Colt rounds. I hit every gun show in the DFW area I can find to buy bullets, cases, primers, powder, etc. I...

Ever use Barnes Buster 325 gr. in 45 Colt...?

Has anyone out there ever used the new Barnes Buster 325 grain bullet in 45 Colt? Santa brought a box of (50) of them after I sent "her" some hints. It will be a couple of weeks before I can try any of them out though and was wondering if anyone else here had tried some of them. They seem...

    AA#9, .357, magnum primers...?

Is it OK to use CCI magnum primers with AA#9 loads for the .357 magnum? I see most reloading data uses regular primers but I have heard some use magnum primers for AA#9.

Ammo shelf gave way...what a mess

Here's a shot of the ammo crash I heard from the other room. Now this one made a wicked sound that went on for a while. Glad I wasn't sitting there! Gave me a chance to do an inventory again and to re-arrange a bit. Shelf is now very secure and part of the wall now. :)

Lost my Redhawk pawl spring and plunger...

I got my cylinder back from Cylindersmith.com in 6 days time. Went to reinstall the trigger assy. and the pawl moved over and the spring and plunger came out. I was installing it and then one moment it was there and the next it had disappeared somewhere. Anyone know where a spring and plunger...

Bought some Cor-bon 45 Colt rounds

And I was ******! I brought them home and using my kinetic bullet puller I took one apart. I wanted to duplicate their load. Starline cases, 300 grain Sierra FP. I weighed the powder charge and was a little surprised to find the charge only weighed 21.5 grains of what looked like H110 or...

Holster for 4" 45 Colt RedHawk

I went looking for a holster for my new hand cannon and found Simply Rugged and the Galco DAO quite good looking choices. But I looked further and found Ruger sells one made specifically for the 4" RedHawk. Made by COWS in the USA, thumbreak, basketweave with a Ruger logo to boot. $38...

Cheapest place to order 300 gr. jacketed bullets...?

Where might be the cheapest place to order some .451" 300 grain bullets for my new RedHawk? Just the bullets, I reload.

    Galco DAO or Simply Rugged...?

Fixing to get a new Ruger RedHawk 4" 45 Colt. Anyone have either of these holsters for this revolver? The Galco looks open at the end and the SR looks closed? Are either one of them actually sealed/closed at the bottom? The SR Sourdough holster has my attention, seems very well made and...

Anyone reload for 4" 45 Colt RedHawk...?

I was planning on getting one of these and wondered if anyone had worked up some good safe loads in this revolver yet? With the 4" barrel would it not be a waste to try and use WW296 or H110 in this length of barrel? The muzzle flash would be tremendous with these powders. Perhaps Unique...

    45 Long Colt case failure...?

We read a lot about how thin the 45 Colt cases are and to only use max loads maybe once or twice and then they must go to the practice round pile of cases. Has anyone had or heard of any 45 Colt cases wearing out here lately? I know the older balloon head cases were not very stout but what...
