With all the talk about the barrel peening on the sr9, does it become a safety issue? What will happen if you keep shooting it with the barrel peened? Will you get a kaboom? What does Ruger have to say about this? Will they send a new barrel or do yoou have to send the whole gun in for repair...

I had a problem with a 22/45 reassembly, making a long story short, sent it back to Ruger and in 2 weeks had it back. They replaced the ejector, the extractor and even the frame. (had a deep scratch near main spring) and the cost for all of this? $0.00 That's right nothing. Talk about good service.

Went to Cabelas's yesterday in Dundee Mi., I had gotten a gift certificate for my birthday. I could not find any ammo for the the pistols I have. Out of 380, 9mm, 45. Nothing, not any type of manufacturer. Unbeleiveable, when is the shortage gonna end? And the prices come down?

What is the typical turn around time for a handgun from Ruger service? I guess that depends on what is wrong with fire arm. But in general how long? Thanks for your input.

I sent my Ruger SR9 back to Ruger for their recall on August 1st, and got it back today August 9th. I would say that is pretty darn good service. Have not tried it out yet, maybe Monday. Came back with a new magazine and a Ruger SR9 ball cap.
