    Savage 487T feed issues..

Fellas I have a Savage/Stevens 487T. I am told that this is the same as the Stevens 187. I have cleaned the gun thoroughly and don't see any broken or odd looking parts but the gun is having feeding issues. Oddly, it doesn't have these issues when I work the action by hand.. I have enclosed...

    Browning Bar weak ejection

I have a problem with my BAR 30.06 made in 1987. It seems to have a weak ejection in that the spent casings barely make it out of the gun if the don't hang out the side of it. The bolt is coming far enough back to pick up the next round but 1 out of 3 usually hang up in the way I mention...

    870 problems

A buddy of mine purchased a new 20 gauge youth model 870 and he is having problems with cycling. More accurately the shells don't always come out the magazine tube when cycling the action. Upon closer inspection I found that the left hand shell latch (side opposite the ejection port) is...

Rifled slugs in a rifled barrel?

Let me start off by saying that I know that it is not recommended to shoot rifled slugs in a rifled barrel but one day I was sighting in a friends 870 slug gun (rifled barrel with cantilever scope mount) and after I got her dialed in he wanted me to "try" a couple Winchester rifled slugs. They...

    22-250 rate of twist?

Does anyone know how long Remington has been using the 1 in 14" rate of twist in their 22-250's? I've been so-so groups with the 55gr ammo and was thinking I may need to use a lighter bullet if it indeed has the slower twist....

Anyone have experience with a Marlin XL7VH

I was looking at some varmint guns and saw a Marlin XL7VH (Varmint Hunter) in 22-250 for $349 on Gunbroker. I went to Dick's Sports and asked if they could order me one and they had one in the catalog for $309+tax. My question is: Does anyone have experience with one of these rifles?

BPS 10ga firing pin denting primers when cycling action.

Hey fellas, a buddy of mine has a BPS 10 ga that dents the primers when cycling the action. He sent it back to Browning and they said it was "OK" to shoot like that. I have a hard time believing that this gun is completely "OK" to shoot. I looked at a schematic of the gun and it shows no...

    Thread question

I recently added a thread in the "Art of the Rifle" section "22-250 with a 1 in 14" twist" and when I click on the "Art of the Rifle" it doesn't show it. I have to click on "New Posts", "Last Post" or go to my profile in order to see it. Did I do something wrong? Thanks Buddy

    22-250 with a 1 in 14" twist....

Hey fellas, I just bought a Remington SPS stainless in 22-250 with a 1 in 14" rate of twist and was wondering if it would/should shoot the Federal Premium 50gr TSX(Barnes). Are there any concerns for stabilizing the bullet? Thanks Buddy

    Browning BLR 30-06

I have recently purchase a Browning BLR Lightning in 30-06 and was wondering what factory ammo is being used by others who have one. This is not the take-down version and has an aluminum receiver. Thanks for any information... Buddy P.

Browning re-introduces the A-Bolt Slug Gun..

I saw in the 2011 Browning Catalog that three versions of the A-Bolt Slug Gun will be available.....That is good news because those older guns would shoot great. http://www.browning.com/products/catalog/family.asp?webflag_=026B&catalog_=B&content=A-Bolt-Shotguns
