    Productive day

I love my Dillon 550. I loaded 200 rounds of 9mm and 1,229 rounds of 223. I load the 9mm on my Lee classic turret and the 223 on my 550. I actually love both presses but the 550 sure makes quick work of 1,200 rounds.

    New gun tax.

Has anybody else heard this? A guy I work with said a gun dealer he went to to buy a carry pistol told him in 60 days ther is going to be a new $200 tax on all guns. This was in Ohio so I don't know if it's an Ohio thing or National. I know the gun shop owner very well and he is very reliable.

    Holy smoke what a deal.

They built a new Cabelas in Charleston WV and we went down today. We stopped at Gander Mtn first and I was very impressed with their newly remodeled gun department. I asked to buy a jug of WST. The guy opened the cabinet and the price said $129.99. I thought that wasn't bad for an 8 pound bottle...

    I hate when that happens

I was a RO at the GSSF match at our club and came home with a cat litter bucket 1/3 full of mixed brass. The bad part is it's going to happen all over again tomorrow. :D

    Dang scale

I have a Pact BBKII digital scale I have been using for five years and it has been a good scale. Well I went down to do some reloading tonight and the scale won't zero. I guess I'll stop on the way home tomorrow and see what a RCBS beam scale cost local.

    Montana Gold Bullets.

Has anybody used them. I am out of .357 bullets and was thinking of getting some, $89 per 1K delivered didn't sound bad. Also it said shipped to a business, can you have them shipped to the house for free?

    Ready for the range.

    I loaded 600 rounds of 223 today.

    Great range day

Went to the club range to shoot the AR's with a buddy. We heard a bunch of shooting over at the pistol bays. It ended up being Ken Hackathorn having a private 1911 training course. After they were done and everybody picked up what brass they wanted and left my buddy and I went over to see if...

    Lubed and sized today

I sized and lubed 1,000 200 grain LSWC's for 45 auto today. I cast them a couple of weeks ago.

    Great weather for casting.

It was partly cloudy here. T-shirt weather, not hot and not cold. I figured since I ran out of 200 grain SWC's the other day that today would be a good day to cast a few. I cast 1,000 200 grain SWC's .452 for 45 acp. Now I get to lube them all.

    Any idea?

I took the MIL's Grandmother clock to the jewelers today so it could be cleaned and given the once over. While I was there he pulled two lead bars out of the bottom and gave them to me. He said he didn't know what they were there for but he sure didn't need them. The two lead bars were taped...

Not as bad as I thought.

I sized, trimmed and chamfered 940 pieces of 223 brass today. Case prep is usually a PITA but it didn't seem too bad today.

    Bought two tires

for the wife's car and they came with a free full five gallon bucket of WW's. :D I wanted to let everybody know that they told me their supplier told them that all of the new weights will be steel or plastic. There won't be any more new lead weights. Bad news because West Virginia is usually one...

    Thumb Print

Just saw on the news that you need to give a thumb print to buy ammo in California now. I'm sure it will spread. One more good reason to reload.

    Lee turret holders

I have seen a lot of new Lee classic turret users and have seen people ask about something to put the spare turrets in. Well I grabbed a turret and went to the hardware store and this is what I came up with. Hope it helps somebody else that wants to keep them off the bench. All of the fittings...

    How many cast?

Just curious how many here cast their own. I cast for 45 auto and plan to cast for 9mm when I run out of factory bullets. Rusty

    Second cast.

Well I had my second cast and things went so much better than the first one thanks to a lot of advice I got. I turned the pot up to 800 degrees and added 24" of 95/5 solder. I dip one end of the mold in the melt and leave it until the lead doesn't stick, then I cast twice to bring it up to temp...

    First cast

I didn't see an area for casting so I hope this belongs here. I cast my first bullets today. The mold is Lyman 452460, 200 grain SWC. I cast with a Lee 10# bottom pour pot that a friend gave me. I had trouble getting the mold up to temp so I figured I would cast a few to heat up the mold. Here...

    All I need now

    223 tracers

I'm getting some 223 tracer bullets real cheap. Most of them won't light and I don't want them to light, I'm just looking for cheap plinking ammo. Does anybody know how to remove or disable the tracer compound? Rusty
