    Surprise....

I went back up to where I have the camper sitting for elk season and got quite a surprise. A bruin had tried to gain entrance to my camper. It only got it's claws behind the water heater door and power cord door and ripped both off. Anyone have any ideas other than a hot lead injection as to how...

    Tags/licenses in your state?

How does your state manage big game licensing? Do they allow tags to outfitters/landowners for them to sell? Do your license fees/taxes which help pay for wildlife go strictly to management or are you subsidizing the hunting industry for landowners as well? Here in Wyo, to date, our state...

    Another guilded bullet question.

When loading Berrys/Rainer coated bullets, does anyone else find they have to crimp their pistol rounds w/ more force than say a hard copper jacketed round? I keep getting length issues w/ my semi autos,,gotta be the bullets nudging forward..Thoughts? I have had no issues w/ jacketed bullets...

    Baby Eagle

Well, I hope I did well, just found a lightly used Baby Eagle in .45acp for $425. Ive been reading up on them and it appears that most like them and a few folks vehemently dislike them. It appeared to have a similar profile in width to a 1911. This will be my first double action style pistol...

    Success..so far

Well I have had some success this hunting season. I spent a week in the Bighorn mtns and came away w/ one 3pt buck deer and no elk. Turned around yesterday and went to Medicine Bow Forest where I had my additional cow elk tag. Set came up at 3PM and shot the elk at sundown. Just happened into a...

    Weird

Strange days I tell ya. When I chased down my first late model Tikka rifle 4yrs ago, I happened upon a set of Warne scope/base rings at about the same time. I used the Tikka rings that came w/ the rifle and set the Warne rings aside for another riflle, etc. While the rifle has performed...

    Powder differences

To anyone w/ experience w/ Accurate powders. One of the local gunshops/sporting goods stores here has a large supply of Accurate powders. From what I have gleaned, their 4350 is similar to IMR 4350 but the load data I have looked at suggests a few grains less in a similar loading:ie..30/06. Does...

Lastly, a couple Steyr/ Mannlichers, one chambered in 6.5x54 and the other in 22lr. The 6.5 is much...

    Hornaday flex tip

To any w/ experience w/ the Leverevolution loads. I see that Hornaday is offering the flex tip in a 160gr bullet, .308 cal. It appears to have a slight boattail. Since I really like Hornaday bullets this looks really interesting for a possible middle of the road 30/06 round. Question: Does...

    Muzzle brake overbore..

What is the general consensus on how much overbore one should have? I have heard anywhere from .010 to .018 larger than your caliber,ie: .318 to 333 for a standard 30 cal. Does anyone have much experience w/ this? TIA Elkman06

I'm running a canvas/military style sling on my sks. i just put the tapco replacement stock on the rifle and have an issue. Perhaps someone has some info on it. With the rifle hanging accross my chest in a ready position, as I shoulder it, the standard sling/swivel of the stock ends up in my...
