    New SIG 239

Today I went to the range to test fire my Glock 27 that had just came back from Glock Inc., for the second time, for feeding issues and the problem reared its' ugly head again. After talking with the owner of the range, who is a Glock armorer, he tried the gun and got the same results. He...

    S&W CS9 grips

I have a S&W CS9 and would like to buy wooden grips for it but I can't find a company that makes grips for that model. Does anyone know of a source for the CS9? Thanks, Tim

New SIG 229 and a question

I bought a new SIG 229 yesterday and upon initial cleaning I noticed the inside of the slide under the front sight there is a spot about 1 square inch where there isn't any Nitron applied and has almost a rainbow effect on the bare stainless steel. I also noticed the spring on the guide rod...

    Odd Rem 870

I just picked up an 870 from my dealer and it apparently is a Secret Service surplus gun. The catalog # is 24579 and there is no mention on Remington's website. Also the serial # is USSS0XXX. I know that some gun companies will give a history on the gun, date of manufacture, who it was sent to...

    Ruger SBH Alaskan Question

I have been thinking about ordering a Ruger Alaskan and have heard that they will have an integral locking system. Has anyone else heard this? Thanks Tim

    Eagle Industries

Just wanted to let everyone know, I ordered a butt cuff (model SSSC-QTR $20.95 + 5.25 Shipping) from Eagle, www.eagleindustries.com , on Monday, which was a holiday, and it arrived Thursday morning. One great thing, other than the fantastic quality and service, is that it is American Made. If...

    Rem Oil?

I bought a bottle of Rem Oil the other day and it seems to be a pretty good oil. Anyone else use it and what do you think of it? I have used Break-Free CLP for a long time and decided to give the Rem Oil a try. After 400 rounds of Buckshot, I'd say my new 870P is broken in now.

    Bought another 870

I got a great deal on an 870 Police Magnum at my FFL's today. 870 PM Blue with Walnut stocks, bead sights 4+1, (#4899) for $350. Now I have 6 870's, this is the first Blued shotgun I've had and I've got to say the finish is one of the nicest that I've seen in a long time. Also got some beanbag...

    What exactly is "tactical" anyway

I don't quite understand, what makes a shotgun tactical. Could a Rem. 870 with pimp-gold Krylon, a clear stock with goldfish in it, and a mini disco ball light for the front bead be considered a "tactical" 12 bore? BTW I promise to cut back on the caffine by 50%. ..........Whit

    Do they all have locks?

I was looking at the S&W website and noticed on the "NEW GUNS" section some of the guns have the internal locks as add'l features and the ones with PD after the model # had no mention of the lock. Is there a bright spot at the end of the tunnel? The used market is pretty dry in my area. Thanks...

Who else carries a full size gun?

I carry a SIG 229 year round and was just wondering how many other people carry the same gun, (full size inparticular) all the time? I have several guns that I shoot but I only carry my 229. (CCW) When I go hunting a S&W 686 is my sidearn. (open) In case you're wondering I was talking to a guy...

    Paging Dave McC.....

I have read many of your posts and you seem extremely well versed on the 870 and Shotguns in general. I would appreciate a little schooling (free advise) I ordered the 870 Police with the wood stock, standard capacity 4+1? I would like to know what I should do in the way of mods? Nothing Rambo...

    .44 Spl question

I'm thinking about getting a 3" .44. (I love those bigbores) Does anyone have any numbers (FPS) that I can expect with loads in the 175-210 gr. range? Thanks for any help. The platform will probably be a S&W 629 Trail Boss. Thanks again. .......Whit

    GP-100 finish

I'm going to buy a 3 or 4" gp-100 within the next 2 weeks, I fully plan to run only hot (real hot) magnums through it (the kind that would make WS2 proud) My question is, Is there any difference in strenght between Stainless and the blue GP's? If I go with the blued, I'll probably have it Hard...

    S&W model 66

I found a used model 66 and I think I'm in love. I regularly carry a 686 but I sometimes find that it's a little big for CC. I tend to shoot my carry guns alot and will more than likely put alot of full-house .357's through the gun. In your opinion, will I be better off just staying with the...

    220 Question

I've been trying to find a dealer for a 220ST and the one that has them says that there are 3 different ones, All Stainless, All Stainless Tactical, and All Stainless Sport. I knew about the Sport and the 220ST but what the hell is the Tactical? Or is there one at all? He also said the Tac...

    My Christmas wish........

I was thinking about a 3" Ruger GP-100 HB and how nice it would be if Ruger had a Custom Shop, I love my Rugers but they always seem to be a little on the rough side as far as finish and triggers go. Since that isn't likely to happen soon, does anyone know of a gunsmith in the Northeast that...

    220 vs. 220ST

One of my future purchases will be a Sig 220, I can't decide if I want the regular 220 or the 220 ST. Will the all stainless gun give a much longer service life? Weight isn't really an issue. This is basically a durability issue. Thanks for any help........Whit

    SIG 239 Question

I was looking at the Sigarms website and much to my surprise, it showed that the 239 is available in all Stainless Steel. Does anyone know if it is even made? I should have asked when I called today but I just noticed it tonight. On the options the website showed an icon to see all available...
