Hi-Point Safe To Carry With Loaded Chamber??

Can anyone with true knowledge of the internals tell me this? Guess I'm looking for reassurance that there is a positive safety/block that would prevent discharge even in a drop situation. I apologize if this has been asked/answered. jd

    Little Dandy Rotor Trade

I just picked up a Little Dandy powder measure with several rotors, and have extra #s 6 and 12. I'd be interested in trading for extras that you may have. I do not need #s 4, 5, 6, 12, or 24. Thanks. jd

    Price of Black Powder??

Can anyone tell me what the current price of BP is. I'm trading a bunch with a guy and need an idea of my value. jd

    Criteria for LEO Service Pistols

Just wondering what is considered minimum cartridge standard for LEO carry guns these days. How about capacity standards. I heard a rumor that standard nines don't cut the mustard any more. Any regional differences? We're in Oregon. I'm interested in actual regs, not just opinion. jd

    HP-38 - Win 231 Identical ??

HP-38 has pretty much become my favorite light pistol powder, even replacing Bullseye, as it seems to meter better with the light loads. HP seems to have a shiny, slick, probably graphite coating that makes it go through my measure very nicely. It seems to be widely accepted that it is the...

    Redding Die Designation/Part #'s Question

I bought my first Redding die set for my 22 BR awhile back. (2 die set) Die box says Series B. The dies themselves are marked FL 3Q, and ST 3Q. I've since obtained another full length die which is marked FL 3C. Can anyone tell me what the 3Q and 3C designation mean?? jd

    Hornady .224, 35 gr., V-Max

Man, these little pills are some baaaad ground squirrel medicine. I just got back from exterminating about forty of the little buggers with my old Mod. 43 Winchester 218 Bee. (Shot 50 shells) I tried these 35 grainers for the first time last year, and was pleased to find that they turned my...

    Loose Cross-hairs??

I've got a Leupold 24x, fixed power bench rest scope -- probably mid seventies vintage. It's attached to my Remington 22BR. I've been struggling to get this rig shooting as good as it ought to, and this afternoon while shooting a few groups, I did a little dry fire with the rifle bagged in...

    Electronic Scales

I've finally decided to join the modern age and get a digital scale. I like the brand, price, and capacity of the Lyman Microtouch 1500, but thought I'd run it by y'all in case it's a lemon or some such. Any others in that class that might be mobetta? I don't want to spend much more than...

    22 BR Remington

I started a thread about this rifle and cartridge in the rifle forum, hoping to find other members familiar with it. Scorch responded, and he ain't chopped liver, but so far he's the only one. Thought I'd come here and see if anyone has any experience with it - or even similar. This rifle is...

Any Rem .22 BR Shooters Around Here?

Hi guys. I've been kinda scarce around here for awhile - no excuses - but I find myself in possession of a rifle that I may need some help with. She's a Remington 40 XBR in the 22 BR cartridge. The scope is in great shape, mounts are unknown to me, but seem fine. I bought this rifle...

    Fix For Duffle-Cut Mauser

I posted the other day about this German 98 that I aquired, and it's poor amputated stock. I'd like to fix it back to original condition, but until I find the right stock or part of one, I'd like to have it operable without looking like Hell, and be able to shoot and carry without the barrel...

I've Adopted a Nazi! Reconstruction Needed.

I haven't been spending much time around here lately, (no real reason), but I've aquired a rifle that might get a little interest and hopefully advice from some of Y'all. It's a 1943, K-98, bring-back. Numbers on everything are matching, but as you can see, the fore-stock has been amputated...

    Old School Progressive

I thought I'd see if anyone besides me is still using one of these contraptions. It's a RCBS Piggyback II conversion unit. I married this thing back in --- thirty some years ago, instead of spending more money on a totally dedicated progressive such as a Dillon. I won't call it one of my...

    Violent Crime Down

I just read that violent crime decreased another couple percent since last year. It has decreased yearly for eight years now. It would be interesting to see how those stats correlate with gun sales, gun ownership, gun restricted areas vs non restricted, etc. I think I know how it relates...

Parkerizing DIY. Can I Do It?

My latest interest involves a Russian refurb SKS, which I'm thinking of stripping the paint off of and Parkerizing. I read about it on Wikipedia and another on-line sight, and it didn't seem like rocket science. I wondered if any of you amateurs - or pros could give me any insight or your...

Russian SKS, My First, and I'm lovin it!!

Can anyone tell me about the NHM Sac. CA. Is it a company that rebuilds or markets these guns, or---? The other number ending in 787 seems to be on every major part including the stock. Also the bolt and handle are blued on this rifle unlike the others I've seen. Is this common from the...

Russian SKS, My First, and I'm lovin it!!

I've been looking at this one at the pawn shop across the street from my work, but he wanted a little much for it; $400 US dollars. I liked the looks of it better than the others I've seen around, however, and told him I'd take it if he dropped fifty bucks. He countered with "You pay the...

    Hog Tunnels???

OK, so this new guy at work starts telling me about getting hogs out of tunnels that the hogs have made in the ground. Sounds kinda interesting, but pretty soon he's talking about tunnels hundreds of feet long, and killing a hog 200+ pounds way in there. Now I'm trying to think of what kind of...

Thinkin About an SKS; Any Advice?

With the end of times coming up and all, I realize that I've got an empty niche in my arsenal; namely an evil looking, high capacity, bullet spraying, automatic. This has never been one of my primary interests, and I don't care to drop a lot of US dollars, so I thought a SKS might do to get my...
