    Hard Chroming and tight tolerances

Hi, I have a 1911 Gold Cup with minor rust pitting on the slide. I would like to have it hard chromed but am wondering if the already-tight tolerances would allow the extractor, firing pin stop and other parts will still fit as they should afterward. Does anyone know how thick a hard chrome...

Getting dissed and closing up shop

I didn't get a chance to post before the thread on closing political discussions was closed. Gore has recently come out in favor of "civil disobedience" to oppose coal production. Obama's supporters have come out on the record as advocating ANY approach that will get their candidate elected...

    New Semi--Benelli or Stoeger 2000

The Stoeger uses the same inertia system as the Benelli for operation. The Benellie is a Lot More Money. Any comments from owners of either? I'm looking to replace my Remingtom 1100.

    Presidential Immigration Policy--T. Roosevelt

From Jeff Cooper, a T. Roosevelt quote from 1907: "In the first place we should insist that if the immigrant who comes here in good faith becomes an American and assimilates himself to us, he shall be treated on an exact equality with everyone else, for it is an outrage to discriminate against...

    Remington VLS accuracy

Greetings, I'm hankering for a .223 varmint rifle and I like the Remington VLS I saw in the store, along with the Howa. I'm leaning more toward the Remington as a tried and true manufacturer. Anyone have any thoughts to share on the accuracy of the Rem VLS in .223? Thanks, Ledbetter

Poison? Where's the sport in that?

Edited to add: It's funny. It's a joke. And yeah I hit the wrong button. KSFreeman, like I said CB caps work for me 99.9% of the time. I hate it, though, when I have to go out in the morning and finish off a possum who's been, well, playing possum. And I've shot a raccoon right between...
